krazyglue
DK was such a big part of the passing game last year but he seems almost nonexistent since the INT in the endzone where he didn't even look back to the ball. Has JC lost faith in him or is he in CW dog house? Thoughts?

Has JC lost faith in him or is he in CW dog house? Thoughts? I think Floyd and Tate are simply better, and they are proving it on the field right now. Guest brady112106
He had two significant shots Saturday, one in the end zone, and another in the middle of the field. I'm not sure if he could've tried to drag his foot in the endzone better than what he did, but that could've been a touch down. He dropped a catchable ball in the middle of the field when Jimmy was scrambling to the right. I think it was put pretty well and simply by KG above. The Gold Helmets
He is not playing well. He doesn't seem to be very aggressive on the fade routes. That ball he caught against Purdue could have been a TD, but he also had a drop on a nice across the body throw by Clausen. He should still get playing time but the development of Tate and the imergance of Floyd has left him the fourth best WR on the team.

Kamara is having a rough start to the season, and is not making the plays that he should. I am not sure what is going on with him, but a result of his rough start, and the emergence of Tate and Floyd has move Kamara down to #4 on the DC. The Gold Helmets
Yep, and I don't know how to spell "emergence". It's not that I can't spell it's that my iPhone just didn't fix it! LOL

The Gold Helmets
This leads to an interesting question. Who do you think will be the slot receiver next year when Grimes in gone? Deion Walker?
echo88
Let's not count him out just yet. He is going to have games this season where he is going to partake in the dismantling of secondaries. He's just having a rough time right now and with Floyd stepping up, its easier to discount him. da coach
Kumara reminds me of Stovall... Stovall struggled his sophomore season after showing flashes as a freshman...but then he really turned it on his Jr/Sr. seasons as he became more comfortable in the system and got in better shape... I know DK showed up overweight to camp, so much so that Charlie Weis gave him #78 as his practice jersey and told him if he wanted to look like an o-lineman, he will dress like one too... I'm not saying he hasn't since dropped the weight, but the kid should have a good wake up call now with Floyd passing him on the depth chart and his opportunities shrinking faster costanza in the pool... Hopefully he can learn from this experience and dedicate himself in the offseason to developing his body into the physical specimen it could be and create a 3 headed monster at WR that no team will be able to defend... Totally agree. That TD catch that the refs took from him (my opinion) was a GREAT effort. He has shown some really nice efforts thus far, but also a few drops and maybe questionable decisions. He just needs to bring up his consistency a bit. Chainsaw - I agree with you that the emergence of Floyd could really be the factor here. We've heard comments and allusions to Floyd's play since summer camp, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that he slides into the #1 slot and Kamara gets bumped back a bit. He wasn't on the team last year, and no shame in getting overcome by a special talent.

The Gold Helmets
I am definitely not ready to write off DK. No doubt he is not playing up to potential but I'm sure he will have his shining moments this season and the rest of his career. If he starts playing to his potential ND's receiving core will be pretty damn beastly. I think it will be interesting to see who plays slot receiver next year. Duval I believe is too big for slot so do you put Golden there? Or you could keep Golden outside and let someone else step up?
phillyirishfan
I think the Irish have a lot of wide outs who will be good in a lot of different spots. Its going to be fun to watch
Guest Qwertyy
He needs to use his body to shield the defender and also be more aggressive once it is in the air. When there is a jump ball in the endzone, he just lets it come to him as he goes backwards. Imagine, with his huge frame, if he got airborne and attacked the ball at its highest point like Golden did on one deep play vs. Purdue when it was slightly underthrown. SpeedsterX
in that regard Kamara is following the Mo Stovall career path to a T. EXACTLY! In fact, my buddy and I would call Stovall, "Snowball" due to his absolute meltdown as a receiver his sophmore year. It was funny because when he broke out and we started cheering for him we would still yell SNOWBALL!!! Everyone thought we were nuts! LMAO!!!
Guest brady112106
The problem was with that diving (touchdown) catch in the endzone is it was originally ruled out of bounds. So there had to be indisputable evidence that his toe hit first. I thought it did, but was not 100% sure. Apparently the review booth did not see concrete evidence either to overturn the call. He's got to get rid of the dropsies and be more dependable. He's going to work himself down the list of go to receivers, especially with Rudolph becoming more of a factor in the passing game. Yea, and the Grimes catch was overturned because there WAS indisputable evidence that it hit the ground. It all STINKS like fish to me! (Although I agree with your post as it is how it should be)
irishdread
This leads to an interesting question. Who do you think will be the slot receiver next year when Grimes in gone? Deion Walker? No, I personally think Tate will be our slot receiver and Deion Walker will be on the outside with Floyd and Kamara. Can u imagine the problems that Golden could cause being lined up against a LB or S ???? Weis will definitely figure it out somehow because our WR depth and talent has really took a big step forward with the way Floyd and Tate are playing. It should look sumthin like this Kamara/Tate----Clausen----Ragone/Rudolph---Walker/Floyd A.Allen/R.Hughes J.Aldridge/J.Gray Now that is what I call "WEAPONS" !!!!!!!!!!! Spread the field and go 4 wide with DK and MF on the outside with GT and DW as the slot receivers. Now who will b able to stop that quartet, with AA running the ball like his junior days in high school, and RH hopefully getting back to what we saw at the end of last season theres no way this offense wont move and score points.
