Franco
Don't get the title wrong...I'm still a superfan, and I've been a fan for more than a decade, but..... I always read EVERY article I can find on Notre Dame, and it gives me hope. But I don't think my body can take the the disappointment every saturday for ten years (though the '05 and '06 seasons were nice stretches)...And after all that I have to read the hate articles and threads from haters (I told you, I read EVERYTHING). I SERIOUSLY go to sleep Saturday depressed (unless I'm wasted, then I don't feel a thing), and it doesn't go away till Tuesday mornings (sometimes even later). I'll keep updated on any happenings around Notre Dame and the games, but man, I don't think my heart can watch another game for the time being. My girlfriend doesn't like hanging out on saturdays during the fall because I yell and curse and then I don't want to do anything the rest of the day. As I say this, it's like I like the pain because I'll keep coming back and watching the games anyway. Horrible cycle..oh well anyway....HERE COME THE IRISH! D Fence
Franco - hang in there man. One thing you could do is get a DVR and record the games. Then watch the score to see if they won or lost (so you don't get too excited or upset watching the game), and then just sit back and watch at your leisure. ND in Indy
Jesus! It's only been one damn loss. And MOST people had MSU circled as one of their losses anyway. No one REALLY believed 11-1 did they?! These pity parties just bother the hell out of me. Every board, too. Damn. Lets just all jump ship. Shut down the board. Shut down the board. completely agree with u. people need to calm down a little, we were deff in that game and could of won, this team is still young, but for someone to stop watching ND football is ridiculous. college football comes around once a year i dont understand how a ND fan could say their not going to watch thier team anymore...... hawaiiirish
some good advice there franco- tape the game- if your heart cant take the live action none of us want you to stroke out or break up with your girlfriend over the games-- but as was said it was one game and keep in mind when you feel that we could have won it -- that may make it more painful but also tells you we are getting close-- hard to get depressed by 38 to zip thats more of an embarrassment -this one hurt cause you can see if this or that was different we could have won -- actually thats a good sign franco-- ill guarantee a win against purdue this weekend so feel free to watch without any heart medication--

I usually do it anyway while I'm watching it.

I'd actually feel pretty good if the team was fired up and did everything they can to win. But they're just so lifeless and can't string together a meaningful drive to save their lives. I just dont understand the lack of execution (running game)...The "young" argument can only go so far. iono, it's really dis-heartening to see the team totally unmotivated and uncompetitive Edited September 23, 2008 by Franco
irishwavend
I think the difficulty people have with this loss is that we were in it until damn near the end. We just kept making young mistakes. Jimmy needs to figure out how play, or let Evan get in there. You can't stare down your dang receiver. If you are going to do that, stare him down then look to a receiver underneath. Jimmy comes out of the huddle and knows who it is going to. He's not making any sort of intellectual read except, "I think my guy is better so I am going to throw it up." While I don't totally disagree with that, he needs to use that as a lesser option to finding a guy who is truly open.
