irishziggy
i dont like passing info from board to board...but over @ GH a reliable poster who seems to read up on alll recruits, ND or non said that he heard a rumor that Teo... is close to scheduling an official visit to ND. And that 3 schools seem to be looking good with him USC, BYU, and ND so far.

Ray Herring
Whens the last time we had a Poly on the team much less a Mormon Poly? Good bunch of people thought. I played FB with alot of them in High School.

irishwavend
Why the assumption of third? My magic 8 ball says we are on a level playing field until signing day.
echo88
Im gonna say the order is USC, ND, BYU. I think BYU is default for the religious background. It will be hard for him to overlook the Polynesian comraderie at USC, but it looks very good that we're being listed. It means that he trusts Charlie's word to allow his 2 year mission. Katzenboyer
Seeing as Teo's top 5 (his words) are UCLA, USC, Stanford, BYU, and ND, I really don't think we have a shot here. All those teams are West Coast, with exception of us. I think in the end, he'll thank the ND staff for being on him so early and working as hard as they have, but it'll be USC. Ugh. Hate typing that. The 2 year mission angle is important because there is another LDS/Mormon kid we're recruiting by the name of Jake Heaps, QB, WA.
irishziggy
article on Scout about TEO. Add Stanford & UCLA to round out his top 5. 1st official this weekend to UCLA. Norm Chow has the same religion and is from Teo's HS, so they have a bond.

It'd be different if it were some kid from, say, Mater Dei. But the kid has to fly out from Hawaii, so I think whatever geographic trends are there are a bit misleading. Its probably got more to do with the fact that they're the programs he's most familiar with. Like a jersey kid would grow up knowing the M.O. on Rutgers, Penn State, Maryland, etc, and probably know about kids that end up there, same deal with T'eo. How many Hawaiian kids that leave the state go anywhere else than USC, UCLA, and BYU? Its probably more subconscious than anything. Thats why ND is in there, because EVERYBODY has at least heard of ND, and has probably seen a snippet of a game or two without even trying. Not saying we lead, but we're in this. ANYTHING is possible with an official visit. Heck, Dayne Crist was almost a Trojan. Anything is possible.
mcdougal93
ND may still be in this fight but I think this kid stays out west. I've heard that he is a longshot.
