dangeruss
sounds like ND may have another jersey kid in the bag. just watched his rivals video and i liked what i saw. he is a bit small and will need to bulk up some and gain some strenght but he will make a nice slot WR. he's got real nice speed, moves real well and seems to have real nice quickness since he plays RB im not sure how good his hands are. hopefully we'll have the same luck turning another RB into a WR like we did with tate. http://notredame.rivals.com/barrier_noentry.asp?ReturnTo=&sid=&script=content.asp&cid=850858&fid=&tid=&mid=&rid=
OddThomas
I hope he signs and stays signed. There is a 7 page thread on him at VolNation beginning when he committed to the present. He went from a great player and a tremendous get to an ok player whose position was already filled with other recruits. Funny how a kid's skills deteriorate in 3 months. And of course the normal stupidity about why would some one sign with a has been program or team destined to lose 8 games a year. The internet is filled with morons. D Fence
This guy looks like he can fly on turf in sunny weather or on sod in a rainstorm.
IrishGrizz
After watching Tate on the field, i can again see the talents of a smaller fast WR again. They don't have to all be 6-
irishziggy
guys like Wes Welker, Kevin Curtis, Desean Jackson, & Steve Smith all get the job done.
IrishGrizz
Exactly, ziggy. For a time there, I was very enamored w the 6-3, 6-4 guy. Even locally here in the Boise State area we have had great success w some tall guys, but then you get that smaller, faster guy that just makes all the plays, and you again see the value of looking at what he does, not what he looks like. irishwavend
For every Golden Tate, there is a George West and probably more. We can't assume Oliver is the next Tate, especially when he has three stars. He could develop, but I'm not gonna bank on it.

IrishCalves
Raw. Probably more raw than Tate coming out of HS, and it took him a full year to emerge (and he's still probably getting the full hang of it). He does have wheels though. And, some versatility to his position (CB, WR, RB, KR). He'll be a project, but we jumped all over this kid as soon as he decommitted. After seeing what Tate has done so far, I'm convinced more and more that speed should be looked at over polish. If you've got faith in your coaching staff to teach the fundamentals, and the kid has the stripes of a winner that will work at it, then you've got a recipe for success. Good get if/when it happens. Not that WR was a huge need in this class, but it honestly does take the pressure off of the Shaq Evans recruitment - which may be a good thing seeing as at best its hard to predict what will happen next (talked about pledging early, then talked into waiting 'til winter to announce, then *silently* committed to USC, then said he doesn't want to be considered a commit to anyone). Its the kind of recruitment that you feel much better about if you have a contingency plan or one already in the hopper at his position.
