irishinlancasterpa
Not sure if this was discussed previously and if so sorry to bring it up again but I was just watching the replay of the game. Does anyone have an explanation as to why that play was not reviewed? I do not believe the SDSU player had possession when he hit the ground, specifically the ball was moving around and then his foot touches out of bounds. He did get one foot in bounds, but as I said I thought the ball was moving. Anyone else think so or did I have too many beers last night and too much coffee this morning? I just can't understand why it was not reviewed. That was a big play in the second half.

rocketsurgery
I was at the game sitting in the endzone where the alleged interception occurred and I, too, wondered why it wasn't reviewed. In live action I didn't even think he had a foot down let alone control of the ball. It was a strange play as Kumara never really came off the line of scrimmage hard and then didn't even look back for the ball. In a word it was a weird play. me
IrishGuy
I wonder less about why it wasn't reviewed, and more about why the hell our WR and their DB switched roles. If Kamara had played the ball, we would of had six.....period.

He wasn't catching too many yesterday.
tdnd81
I was speechless after that play, Kamara ducked right before the ball came??? did he know it wasn't a brick flying his way. Or that HE was the reciever?? he simply had to have a brain fart. Oh well we won.. off topic but did anybody see the backwards pass that Lindsey threw and we picked up for a TD in the 1st Q???? Haden and NBC didnt say anything and i watched it sober today and it was a frickin backwards pass. Oh well we won..

Guest irishrick
WR and their DB switched roles.i think that this was a call from upstairs, seems coach t saw something ? otherwise why did they switch, good question has Charlie responded to it yet ? SpeedsterX
Also, YES! Hughes knee was down! And that probably would've been another 6!
IrishGuy
I gotta quit reading this thread....I am starting to feel like yesterday wasn't as bad as it seemed. I had almost forgotten about the RH NON-fumble....and the backwards pass for 6.
Irishkidfromcali
so all in all if you combine everything this game is nowhere near as close as the final score indicates

I was thinking it was a bet of some sort between DK and their DB....some trash talk was probably going on, and the DB said "I bet you couldn't cover me as well as I am covering you".....and Kamara probably said "Next play....we switch". tchris555
Kamara was the anti-player of the game yesterday. It wasnt just him messing up either. It looked like he lacked effort on many plays.
irishndfan2
YES! It was a backward pass and we should have had 6!! that play looked like sergio tipped the ball, would it still matter??
SpeedsterX
that play looked like sergio tipped the ball, would it still matter?? Yes, it would matter, then dead ball once it hit the ground BUT, from the angles I saw and from many posts in cyberspace, it was definitely not tipped (as that possibility was brought up). IrishGuy
I watched it frame-by-frame in HD.....it was a backwards pass. RH's fumble was NOT a fumble.... I am thinking about offering to do all of the reviews for the NCAA with my 2 year old Hitachi and HD cable (it is sad that I can get indisputable evidence with 2+ year old technology and the NCAA can't seem to do it with an entire both / crew of people). IrishCalves
I have seen worse calls and non calls on a specific basis. The Stanford non catch last year comes to mind. That said, the worst officiated game from start to finish I've ever seen. I didn't think either goal line fumble, SD State's or ND's, was a fumble. Both were subject to review, which makes it all the more puzzling. That PI flag on that deeper throw to Kamara in the 1st quarter shouldn't have been picked up, as he grabbed Kamara's hand while the ball was in the air (didn't look incidental to me). Clausen should have been flagged for intentional grounding when he did a whirling dervish routine and couldn't throw it away beyond the line of scrimmage. That fade INT could have been reviewed, and that WAS a backwards pass, by about a yard. Granted, you can always call holding on every play, but there were was at least one blatant hold that was missed that ND committed IMO (think it was Stewart, don't remember the faces too well). It wasn't one sided, but a LOT of blown calls that completely changed the face of the game. Call that backwards pass properly, and the Irish start out fast with a defensive touchdown. Call the early fumble right, and you're talking Irish up 14-0 perhaps. Or, for that matter, call the late fumble correctly, and the Irish get knocked off at home. Each of the foul ups changed the course of the game in big, big, big ways. This was the worst officiated game I've ever seen from start to finish. Simply unprofessional in caliber.
