i can't believe the IOC is gonna get rid of baseball and and softball; thereby, preserving this ridiculous rhythmic gymnastics that is being aired right now. this looks like circus stuff, not a sport. the olympics continue to lose their legitimacy by keeping these ridiculous activities. just because the europeans suck at baseball, the rest of the world should not have to suffer............

I don't what you guys are complaining about. I really enjoyed synchronized diving, synchronized swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, equestrian, table tennis, and badminton. :0)

 

Seriously, the Olympics are not only dropping baseball and softball, have you seen what they've done to boxing? It's tragic how they score those bouts with incompetent judges. Same thing with Tae Kwon Do. A lot of controversy with those two sports.

 

My other complaint is with the coverage. Did we have to see all those ping-pong(table tennis)matches? How about all that time dedicated to the Chinese hurdler's injury? I think this should have been reported, but NBC did not show the female US discuss throw that won the Gold for the first time since the 30s! They didn't even show wrestling on primetime.

 

Sad indeed! Maybe they'll add checkers in 2016.

actually one of the sports they are thinking of adding to the games in 2016 is sevens rugby a shorter faster paced version of the game that is easier to play on only a days rest check it out on youtube pretty crazy stuff

Rugby would be a great addition. It's a great sport. I wouldn't mind if they added cricket either.

cricket????? good god mcdougal, the olympics are only 2 weeks long. friggin cricket matches take a month. that would make total sense though. get rid of baseball and add that nonsense. A rough game

cricket is a sick sport imo, i wouldnt mind watching it, although not sure how USA would do in that

i play 15 a side rugby in the offseason of football right now and im not sure which i like better. they're both great but with rugby it doesn't stop you keep gping for 40 minutes

You're right, we Europeans do suck at baseball. But out of interest in how many countries is it played to any decent standard? I was under the impression that outside of the USA, some central American/Carribean countries and Japan it wasn't played in very many other places? (If I'm wrong feel free to tell me!)

The same thing can be said about "table tennis" and badminton. Outside of Asia, who plays these games? How sad is it that they have a professional table tennis league in Spain? Still these two sports are dominated by China and Indonesia.

Your dad is right!!! That is why golf is not a sport, Cig hanging out of the mouth is no prob while playing that game...

yeah TD. I just told him what you said and he agreed. I thought for sure he'd say no way, since he loves to play, but he said it's a nice hobby. He said it would be more like a sport if someone was going to tackle you while you were lining up to putt.

Two other games you could play while you smoke or drink-bowling and darts. But they have tourneys for both.

you can put horseshoes in there too. i've thrown plenty with one eye covered................
