What was most impressive at camp: In the hand eye coordination drill with Coach White, he looked like a professional juggler. On the Hoof:He is a lean back with good height. Wood is almost built like a receiver and looks like he was born with a football in his hands.
July 21, 200816 yr Best thing about USC having a logjam at RB is that ND picked up this kid, he is going to be a beast.
July 22, 200816 yr From all that I have read, it never seemed that SC was a likely destination for Cierre for some reason and I dont think it was the competition. He was quoted regarding his interest even before he received an ND offer, he committed almost immediate upon visiting, it seems his mind was made up, it just did not appear he was SC to lose, imo
July 22, 200816 yr http://rivals100.rivals.com/content.asp?cid=829111 Article from Rivals. Gotta love that last statement.
July 22, 200816 yr Is he including THIS year in that gaurantee, or only once he gets here? Bold my friend...bold...
July 22, 200816 yr He shouldnt have said it, but you know he was just messin with his cali boys. I would rather him say that then "i think while at ND we will continue to get our ass handed to us"
July 22, 200816 yr I think he should have said it. Who cares? Nobody is taking him up on it and politicians make a lot loftier guarantees. He's a kid f'ing around.
July 22, 200816 yr Although I hope and pray it comes true, whenever someone says something like this (ref. Jimmy about National Championships) it makes me cringe when I hear it. Here's to keeping my fingers crossed!
July 22, 200816 yr he could end up on the wrong end of a Rey Maualuga cheap shot for something like that (or whatever thug takes his spot on the team as resident dirtbag)
July 22, 200816 yr Let's not make this more than it is. He's simply stating that ND will be better than this past year while having some fun with his friends. I like the positive attitude.

I'm not sayign he shouldn't say it, or that I'm not glad he did say it (mostly because to me in means he's very solid in his commitment) but just saying it has the ability to piss off

Day by day, Cierre listens to what a mistake he's made in choosing Notre Dame. Even when he goes to these skill camps, the trojan recruits gang up on him. I think he's making it a point to stick it to all of them and I wouldn't be surprised if he shatters the state rushing record. I wouldn't want him if he didn't feel this way. I know, it's bulletin board material now but who cares? USC has slaughtered us the last 2 years without it so on that note, I don't mind it. Keep on Cierre!

July 22, 200816 yr Guys, I know we may have one more rough season but we are going to win the National Championship in 2010! It's going to happen!
July 22, 200816 yr Another Free Rivals Article: http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=829032 The California crew spent Monday morning before drills debating what team would come on top if they faced each other. The debate quickly turned heated, until a calm and cool Carroll walked up to everybody and told them, "our school has money, and we'll come and play you guys anytime, anywhere." Cierre Wood said he would take Carroll up on that challenge. So don't be shocked if we see a Los Angeles Cathedral vs. Oxnard Santa Clara scrimmage this fall some time. I'm loving this guy already. Our team needs this attitude period.
July 25, 200816 yr Author I would much rather have cocky ass 18 year olds than those that sit on their aces and say nothing. If ND needs something, it is the "I" want to play now and "I" want to win now attitude. Come to ND and win football games (like we use to). And by the way, you will get the best education one can receive while winning football games.
July 25, 200816 yr I love the RB's we're bringing in the last few years. Aldridge, Allen, Hughes, Gray, plus now we're going to be adding Riddick and Wood to the mix. This is what's really going to upgrade our defense. If our line gets it together and we're able to have great ball control by being able to run well our defense will improve my leaps and bounds. Not to mention the pressure it's going to take off of Clausen in the passing game.
July 25, 200816 yr I have a friend on the tennis team who is also taking classes this summer. He has said two things 1) the football team has been working extremely hard 2) Jonas Gray is ridiculously jacked and in shape
July 25, 200816 yr So based on Woods comments I assume we dont have to worry about him decommiting unless something major happens?
