Who's this foreverirish guy?

Good find buddy!

This is good news. Saw his interview a while back and this kid is not only a good player, but well spoken and seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

His Dad is taking a very, very proactive approach to his son's recruitment. Sounds like he doesn't want his son to get chumped, so he's screening all the calls and setting up his son's itinerary on his behalf.

There are always deviations, but for the most part a heavy dose of parental involvement usually bodes well for the Irish. They seem to get the "40 year" pitch a lot better than some 17-18 year old with an invincibility complex that has never had to deal with the real world.

This is huge news in my opinion. I'm really high on Jenkins as one of those difference makers who is a future star in the making and just knowing we are getting a visit is putting a smile on my face. If what IrishCalves is saying is true in regards to his father's involvement then I think we have a fighting chance of landing this unbelievable linebacker.

Thanks guys for the info.

well put calves. trust me, his MOM is right behind his dad. cause if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy........................

I hope(and pray) that we get Jelani. Maybe Jenkins will equal this years Omar. We really didnt know much about him and thought he was a UM lock and then he visited and committed in the following days. Except he wont decomitt. LOL

Jenkins is gonna be the real deal for us, if he commits (knock on wood).

Let's hope he's impressed with ND on his visit next week, for his sake and ours.

Any word on Jenkins as of late? I haven't seen him talked about by anyone on DD in quite some time. He's my favorite prospect in this class so I've been trying to keep up with his recruitment closely.

Not a lot has come from him. He's a quiet dude to begin with, and his father has taken a VERY proactive stance when it comes to where he visits, and who he talks to. Not a lot of interviews from the kid either way, let alone from anyone in his family. And when he does talk, he plays the game very well - nothing but good things to say about all of the schools he visits, so all of them look to be on an even field from face value.

Most of the buzz I've heard is hearsay reports on what the locals supposedly think. Maryland and PSU seem to come up a lot, but thats not shocking that the locals would say something like that either considering geography. Its real early, and basically we won't know where we stand until either some official annoucnement, or he gets around to setting up officials in the winter.

Amazing how little we have heard about Jenkins and Te'o. Nixo hasn't put much out, but we hear alittle more form that camp.

Wow, this guy is good! I remember having similar feelings about Chris Donald when I saw his highlight video, but Jenkins sounds like he brings it every down, every game. With his work ethic and attitude, he's going to be a star. It would be unbelievable if the coaches brought in both Te'o and Jenkins.

Come on, Jelani! Notre Dame is the perfect blend of athletics, academics, and class that you're looking for! Plus you'll get to blitz like crazy every game!

This guy is my new favorite player. Rivals has some video on him (actually, they are currently running a highlight of one of his games on the main ND page) and he is absolutely amazing.

I think this kid is in a league of his own. Saying he is impressive is like saying the sun is warm. The kid is mind blowing out there.

I don't think I have ever seen a LB with that kind of closing speed.

...Just Amazing.

Bit of a man crush no?

I don't blame you.

I really like a lot of our defensive guys. I love our LB's and once we get a couple of new DT's with some ham on their eggs, we will be invincible on defense! I won't even say we need a new offensive line coach! :)

do we have a realistic shot. Who looks like the teams to beat here

i think he's all PSU, unfortunately.........................

You take that back right meow!!!!

You take that back right meow!!!!

hahahaha. i wish i could, but with state penn's recent onfield success and his families proximity to central PA, i think it will be a foregone conclusion. i hope i'm wrong..............

I'm with schell. I think he's on his way to Happy Valley.
