Great article on NDnation..regarding an article on comparing TY vrs. CW and their work ethics. College football writer/anaylist "Micheal" when asked to compare CWs' coaching staff to Tys' he said .." who was Tys' staff? and that it was like replacing mall cops with the SEAL team"..quite humerous..this writer in the past had really nothing pleasent to say about ND football..but I think this feller is finally coming to his senses. Lets get this party/season started already..GO IRISH

Yep I read that. It was a really funny line. :D I'm getting tired of all the detractors, bashers and what not myself. If that previous person was still at the head of the ND program I would venture to say the remarks would be the same. There is just a sgment of people we will never please, be friends with or trust. Same ole sme ole. Putting it this way everyone knocking us over Ty would today still be bashing us if we still had him.

I think another change is with Coach Weis and being nastier we have also developed thicker skins. I read the crapola may report on it but it bounces off me now as a fan.

Nice post

I agree..I am getting used to being the team people love to hate..that is our tradition..why? because we win..( or going to increase winning )..when you play N.D. for alot of teams that is their national championship..I wouldn't have it any other way!! GO IRISH

:D :D Ahaha! You bring something to the table everytime you post. I know that feeling of being a fan of the team people love to hate. :D :D :D

oh and what a wonderful feeling it is

It reallly is embarassing when you look at the last staff compared to this one. I forget his name but the d-back coach last year had 1 year of experience as a d-back coach at a MAC school. It's no coincedence that ND was ranked 116th in passing defense. We probably had the 116th best coach. Now he's replaced with Bill Lewis. No wonder ND is hated. No other program could bring in a SUCCESSFUL NFL postion coach like that for the same position. Alot of guys thrown out on their arse (see Gary Crowton and Matt Cavanagh) and leave the NFL for college but rarely if ever one will when he is at the top of his game.

totally agree..I think we definetly suprise alot of teams this year on defense ( fingers crossed )... what an all-star coaching line up we have now...would love to be a fly on the wall in other teams conference rooms trying to come up with an offense-defense game plan against us..I think you can expect some unpredictablity. One article stated that they thought we'd see alot of 4th and 4 plays out of CW and staff..I like that kind of football..and yes I know its easy to say that when it's successful and hard to take when it fails..but I think of it as "aggressive ball" and I like to think of us now as an aggressive team..no more being passive..nasty..heh heh heh yeah..nasty...love it! God Bless The IRISH

take it for what it's worth but I read a thread on notredamefans.com and someone "in the know" posted that he is freinds with a starting o-lineman. supposedly the player said that he learned more from this staff in 1 month than in 3 years from the last staff. while that may be internet fodder it wouldn't surprise me if it was true. i hate to put to much in the blue/gold game but they just looked completely different in all phases. "thick, quick, and nasty" Gotta love it
