Posted December 8, 200519 yr He is announcing tomorrow. He WILL be Irish. That is the last of the guys that I have had news on over the last month. Carufel is pretty much already known to be Irish.
December 16, 200519 yr that pretty much sums up the Ty era right there...talk about a coach changing the recruiting landscape, this kid was a long shot at the beginning of the year, and now he believes Notre Dame is his home, "the best fit for me". CWeis is the best in the country, I can only imagine how upset the poodle is about this one
December 16, 200519 yr Ahaha!! No Way! That sounds like Charlie and his "Gimmie a break!" Those two will get along fine. That helps put the smackdown on the Ty years and recruiting. It does pucture the Poodles perfect program. Let's give some credit to Brian Polian. He is in charge of the California area, so has been nursing Konrad Reuland Will Yeatman (even tho on Lacrosse) and most likely Jashhd Gains NV. Back in August or so it was mentioned Charlie put Brian in charge of that West Coast area's recruiting. At the time I thought Poor Brian the youngest guy on the coaching staff got stuck with the crap territory. Not to take anything from Weis here. Just the most calls, shepherding, contacts is your teritorial recruiter. Iannello for that matter. OK! (We will be doing page three on this soon That's 26 or not counting Yeatman a full 25. We await EE announcements. Incredible Charlie and now your moving in on 2007
December 16, 200519 yr “Not just what he’s done this year, but the way he’s recruited me,” Reuland said when asked if Charlie Weis’ influence on the Irish had swayed his decision. “They’ve done a great job recruiting me and I really felt wanted over there. This year has been an awesome year and they have a great group of guys returning for next year’s team, and I think I have chance to get in and contribute next year. “Yeah, I’d say so – definitely,” he said when asked if Notre Dame had paid him the most recruiting attention of his top three schools. Just a lil more of the conversation for you all to see...I am just throughly impressed with the job this staff is doing, its like Parcells always said you have to let me buy the groceries if you want me to cook dinner (or something like that) with these groceries Weis is going to be able to cook a food network type meal...Cooking with Charlie!
December 16, 200519 yr Awesome,... absolutely awesome. This is grand. Now all that we need is for Carufel, Young, and McCoy to commit. Then it would be perfect. Come on George West enter early, you know that you want your bud McCoy to come along too. Ohh,... and about the other O-line guy that went to Texas, that kind of concerns me that Weis would offer him. Possibly Young isn't as much of a lock as we thought. But I also think that with Wenger coming along, he can't say no. It's just a shame that we don't have room for people like Terrance Austin or Lou Eliades, even though we really won't need Lou.
December 16, 200519 yr Both Austin and Elidaes have stated that they believe ND's class is full, if thats true I still do not understand Weis and this Moore kid, but what it means is that they feel like McCoy and Young are in, or atleast one of them, depending on West coming in early...as much as I would like to have them, I am really happy with our wideouts and our line class is going to be unreal, and think about this, Austin and Eliades are both guys who had the opportunity to commit earlier and failed to jump on board, thats there fault, the Charlie Weis train is moving foward and they just missed there chance at greatness...
December 16, 200519 yr Good points. I still like Austin though, and from the looks of his college choices, we will probably be seeing him in the future, i.e. UCLA. He kinda reminds me of Marvin Harrison. Ohh well, like you said, they should he got on while they had a chance.
