Brady Quinn is not going to the Heisman ceremony as only three players were chosen to go! What a bunch of crap this award has become! Leinart,Young and Bush? Please tell me where Brady Quinn doesnt fit into that group especially in front of Leinart! Come on! Gimme a freakin break!

BG Tom. I know your an avid ND fan so am I. Voters have that right to vote their way any rules I guess are rules. I know Brady whupped lienart stats. However ND I am I would vote Brady #2 behind Bush myself. I exclude Lienart because he runs it up, really can't go 60 minutes and can't take a hit. I exclude Young or make him #3 because he is an option QB. Roughly 1/3rd his stats are running. Which is super where he is but dies in the NFL. But this is just lil me.

 

Coach of the year? If you don't know I paraticly worship Charlie Weis well..... My vote would go to JoePa. I know his OC did it all but his age darn I respect him and wins and he should close it out with COTY.

 

Charlie will get it 2006, Brady will win Heismen.

 

Added plus...don;t you think the team will be upset somewhat that Brady was skipped Heismen and Charlie as Coach of the year? If you can't picture locker room chat We had the best coach went 9-2 lost 2 games by 1 play each and another got COTY. Or we had the hottest QB around and he got spurrned.

 

Besides no trip to NY helps kill the talking heads that Brady will NFL there January.

It's a toss up for me. Bush is probably #1, cuz he saved ML's arse many times this season. Brady #2, cuz he lead a .500 team out of the gutter and into the 2nd biggest bowl game. VY is #3, cuz he's not #1 or #2 and ML is #4, cuz he's already won the heisman, is headed to the pros and only took 1 or 2 classes this season! Period!

I agree ,even though it makes me sick to my stomach, Bush wins the heisman but what im saying is not having Quinn their isnt right ,ND fan or not. Quinn has better stats than 2 of those three and it can be said he meant more to his team than Young and Leinart did. Its gotten way to political with the media getting behind one or two guys all year, regardless if someone else has better stats ,and them ending up in the running or winning the trophy when there are more deserving people out there. They need to change the name to the "Media Presents" trophy. No one even mentions the kid from Washington St. who almost went for 2,000 yards rushing. I just think its all a sham!

Quinn should be there because of what he has done, not in comparrison to what Leinart has done this season. The argument goes that if he hadn't won last year, there's a fair chance he wouldn't be there either.

 

I don't like it, but WE ARE N D and we have to stop saying "Ohh, ohh, USC got this special treatment, OSU got this or that" etc etc. Plus Brady will now romp in the Fiesta Bowl and next year...

I agree with bluester we need to definitely stop over reacting if a thing doesn't go our way. I belie all that was fine for us before 2005 and the Weis era. I mean we were crap and like BG Tom said we were in ther gutter. It was fine to lick our wounds and whine then. Misery loves company.

 

Now this Heisemen thing. I don't vote, none of us do. I don't know or care what old codgers belong to vote. Here Brady hasn't won nore favored. He appears to be #4 and they only allow 3 under some rule.

At the most I could only acceuse the Heismen people of being cheap. I mean, what's the p[roble can't you afford a 4th airfare, room for a couple days, food and some expense money? But that's the most if it's a rule one can complain about.

 

One could seeing the early speculation on Bush simply sit back and wait for the envelope to be opened and wish/hope there is a moment of deep surprise and embarresment to the Sportsmens club. "Winner is Brady Quinn." Some guy excluded and sitting back in South Bend. But then I don't think that would happen.

I lump it perhaps as a disappointment only. I have no idea exactly how or what the rules are with the NY Sportmens Club or if rules were changed.

 

I do feel if an intential sligh Coach Weis would be down on them like a ton of bricks and explode publicly. Forgetting, if it's possible, that Coach Weis is Notre Dame he is one powerful person in the New York New Jersey area. Jets, Giants and Patriots. We can go to near by Philly with the Eagles. One and all he knows coaches, assistants, front office staff and that would include Media. For every single NY area media blast he received 2005 some 15 to 20 poured out in favor of him.

 

I was on an IM with a Pal about this earlier. He had to go quick so only got to mention someone named Brown won the Heismen with 900 yards when others had more. I can't verify that remark as accurate. I do know back when Paul Hornung, who is trying to rehab his ND image, won it on a losing ND team.

 

So how why they vote the way they do?
