i still can't believe that braxton cave isn't getting any repsect. i believe one big reason for cave not getting any repsect might be because he didn't play in the Army All-American game.

It would be nice to see Cave get more recognition, but I see clearly how capable he is after watching his nasty play in the UA game. Can't wait to see this bad man suit up next season! Hope his attitude on and off the field resonate throughout the entire OL!

I'm surprised that Clelland is still in the top 100...and as you said, that Cave still isn't.

Not saying its right, but I think Cave played in the wrong All-Star game. I think if he would have played in the Army game, he would be getting a little more respect.

I think you're right-on there NDFan.

I guess I've never seen a definate answer to this but was Cave invited to the AAA game? I sure know that they were short on center's considering they had to use a guy that had never played the position before. But, i suppose they had to cut the ND monopoly off somewhere.

I know it's not fair to Cave, but the way I see it. If he had choosen to play in the AA game, he would have not been in Walker's ear all week. I'm not saying Walker would not have pick ND, but Cave being there only helped.

ok, but if that's the case why did he-who-shall-not-be-named get all the extra pub and love when he too "picked the wrong all-star game?" he shot up to a 5-star on everybody's boards by playing at the same game as cave. makes little sense...not to mention cave more than held his own against the DT i'm referring to!

The only thing I can figure is how well that particular DT performed in all of the one-on-one drills.

From all accounts, he dominated everybody he faced, and from what I saw, that was very true.

I'm not sure how many times, if ever, he faced-up against Cave.

Man those rankings are pathetic, McGuffie at 11??

I think they only went against each other during the game. The one on one drills were with members of the same team.

I don't think they are that pathetic. Lemming tends to rank players by popularity as well as skill. McGuffie is certainly high-profile and people will still remember his name regardless of what happens in college.

Rivals almost needs to stop thinking and stop analyzing. There is a reason why certain prospects get offered on September 1. Just find out who Florida, USC, ND, Georgia, OSU, Michigan, and LSU give out scholarships and rank them in a top 50. Then later add 50 more prospects and there is your top 100.

I'll tell you why Cave isn't getting any love,,,,

It's because he's from Indiana, plain and simple. If he came from south Florida or California, he'd be at least a high 4 star after the Under Armor game and the way he handled Omar.

I hear ya. I know Im probably in the minority on this one but Im not that impressed with McGuffie. I think he's good but he wasnt a #11 type player in the game I watched. He had one nice run and got stuck and stuffed on the rest. Im not worried about him when we play UM.

Lemming's rankings are based on popularity, which is a problem. Because he himself is his only scout, there's no way he can reasonably evaluate all these high school players. That is why ESPN is a bit off too (they only have 2-3 scouts right now). However, at least ESPN realizes the problem and is on the right track to correcting it.

Case in point re: Lemming - he has 5 QBs in the top 17 players on his list. EVERYBODY knows that this is a relatively weak year for elite QBs, but they are high on his list because QB's get more popularity.
