Good find. I will now open mouth and incert foot. i thought he was all R'kansas.

Sounds good to me. He would have a tough time running that offense.

I was thinking A&M. I thought the prospect of going closer to home and playing for a successful pro style coach.

I'm a bit surprised too. I thought it would be Arkansas as well.

So, say Mallett actually does transfer and from everything I've read, Terrelle Pryor seems to be an OSU lock, I would think Meatchicken would be in a world of hurt at the QB position.

Absolutely SD, UM would be starting next season with this years 3rd string QB. They don't have a QB commit in this class, Weinke decommitted for Iowa, so they would be in a world of hurting.

The first thing I though when I heard that Mallet was going to transfer - Pryor is a silent to UM, its the only way it makes sense to me. If he weren't a silent, why wouldn't RR just tell Mallet that he would run the spread next year, and just let Mallet throw it all over the field. That would give RR an extra year to find a spread/option QB to run the offense he really wants.

it's not a done deal yet. also read a little further down when Mallett told someone from the website that he would like to stay a Wolverine.

Yaa, for a year or two only though.

Oops.

Sorry SD, I thought you wrote that Pryor was a skunkbear lock, actually I assumed you did.

I thought Pryor had a lot of interest in UM after Dick Rod (thanks schell) was hired.

Is he showing no interest in them now?

If Mallett transfers, it will be interesting to see if MI struggles as much as ND did this year with a Frosh at the helm.

Either way I see them struggling. Hart, Long, Henne are all gone, theres a pretty decent chance that Manningham wouldn't want to play in a scheme thats primarily ground based, especially if they're breaking in a true freshman in Pryor. I don't think anyone could overcome those loses, Pryor included. We saw a similar mass exodus last year, and not even "the LeBron James of HS Football" could save us.

Remember that while everyone is eager to draw parallels between Pryor and V. Young, Vince never really started turning the corner until his third year, and that this was after he sat out a year. Pryor's one helluvan athlete, but he's still a semester away from going to college. It'll be interesting to watch though, no question.

Calves...is this assuming Pryor goes to UM or do you think that is a foregone conclusion at this point?

i think Pryor is all UM at this point.

i think Pryor is all UM at this point.

All the reports I've read said that Pryor has been hanging out with the OSU commits at the AAA game. That is a very telling sign if you ask me.

But, even if he does go to Meatchicken, I'm not that worried. As Calves said, even one of the best players in college football history didn't start making ends meet until his third year under the helm.

Whatever happens at UM this year doesnt really matter. They are going to be mixed up for a few years trying to completely reshape their team. If Mallett has a brain he'll get out of their ASAP. He's way to big and slow to run Richie's offense. Im actually looking forward to us facing them in the next few years.

there's really not any bigtime WRs in this draft class, so I wouldnt be surprised if Manningham went. Also dont forget their best Senior WR (Arrington) graduates as well.

I don't know whay you guys don't listen to me! I told you all last year that Mallet was transferring to Arkansas.....Duh!!!!!

WOW. I hadn't heard about this at all. If we land Mallet we may actually be able to play in a few years haha. We'd still be hurting for WR's, really badly. But it would be a great start.

I wouldn't be so quick to discount the skunk bears.... There D has slaughtered us the last two years..... They always have above average talent across the board. My big question marks for them would be how their defense adapts to dick rod's 3-3-5 D, and how their O-line adapts to the new blocking schemes too. Also, McGuffie really worries me in this system and all the space it gives him to work with.

Having said that, nothing would make me happier than seeing the Irish destroy them 4 years in a row and watch Dick Rod scramble for a new job as a wide receiver’s coach.

Dick Rod. Thats great
