Very true Double D...however there's no debating whether or not it also makes the world go around. Money = power. That is one of the reasons the USA has no much influence in the world and it's also the reason why wealthy, generous alumni can get things done when the want to.

My problem as well - money doesn't motivate me except when I need to pay the bills My wife is still coming to grips with that reality that our goal is to get to heaven not be Bill Gates on a power trip to hell...

Very true, it's just harder. I'm still motivated to make money, don't get me wrong. People can do a lot of good things when they have money. I don't think it's a bad thing to be wealthy, i just think it would be harder to do "the right thing" a lot of the time, at least for me. So that's why i said I wouldn't want to be extremely wealthy.

My wife is a social worker. If you think the poor are righteous by virtue of having no money then spend some time with them brother. Money for beer, drugs, lottery tickets, cable TV, BBQ grills but money or clothes for the kids? Forget it.

I believe that money is the "great exaggerater". What i mean by that is that money exaggerates everyones qualities, whether good or bad. If you are a good moral and ethical person, you will do good things with your money. If you're a bad person you wil likely do bad things.

 

I don't think money is the root of all evil. Evil ppl are the root of all evil kind of similar to that whole guns don't kill ppl, ppl kill ppl.
