On the red team, defensive tackle Omar Hunter (Sugar Hill, Ga./Buford) quickly established himself as one of the top lineman on either side of the ball in this game. The 300-pounder was basically unblockable during a one-on-one drill segment against the offense; Hunter's explosiveness and get-off for a lineman with his bulk is outstanding.

dam this kid is a beast. We cant afford to lose talent like this Charlie better not let him go.

I'm afraid all of these articles may have gotten to him.

I still find it quite odd that Rivals doesn't list him as at least a "soft verbal" but, maybe they only do that if they actually hear it from the man himself.

Until he schedules a visit, I think that you have to consider him a solid verbal. I also have no problem with the guy having cold feet. I just hopes he sticks with ND.

If I were him, I'd be sick and tired of people asking me whether I was solid or not. In February, he'll make his final decision, and we'll all know for sure.

Guys, Relax. Omar has said he is coming. He told ESPN he is a ND commit. He has taken numerous pictures saying he is ND all the way. I mean, do you always ask your wife if she is solid? Sometimes you just have to have some faith. If he goes away then it wasn't meant to be but he is saying he is Irish.

I agree. He says he is Irish, so that is what he is until HE says otherwise.

When did he tell that to ESPN? I've stayed away from the Omar drama for the most part and taking a wait and see approach. The only reason I break my silence on this subject now is the fact that if he recently said this I would be thrilled. I agree with some that say Omar doesn't make or break this class, but Omar is the kind of player you need if you want to be playing for a National Championship. A true game changer on defense. Not only will a player of his caliber help your team win a lot of games, but he'll open the recruiting flood gates. No disrespect to Ian Williams, Hafis Williams, or Brandon Newman intended. I think they they're all good (going to be good) players, I just think Omar is on another level.

reneg, hate to bum you out, but he'll be playing his saturdays in gainesville. hate too sound so pessimistic, but it's really looking more like U of F.........

I have to disagree. JMO, he is still going to ND. I know this really doesnt matter at all and this probably a moot point but he still has an ND backround on his myspace.

if he goes to UF, you better be asking your wife some questions :p

on a side not, are you are notre dame grad? and then went on the chiropractic college?.. just a question :)

To still think that Omar is a solid committ to ND at this point screams of having your fingers in your ears yelling LA LA LA LA. Just MHO.

At the very LEAST, he's a shakey ND commit.

I do not think that Omar has spoken to anyone since the Florida news came out. All conversations he had with ESPN were prior to this if I remember correctly.

that's correct. He hasn't spoken since.

just basing my opinion on what one of our fellow USC fans who likes to come here is saying. he seems to be the new information guru. hope he is having fun at the rose bowl...............

in all seriousness, i would think that omar is licking his chops looking at the possibility of early playing time at U of F since they are looking a little thin on the D-line right now against michigan. they seem to be plagued with injuries and have trattou in the game as an underweight DT. i don't think urban would be lying if he offered him a position to start right away...............

not like he won't play early for us

Rumor among the players at the game is that Omar is going to Florida, the rivals guy doesn't believe it's a done deal unless he gets on the plane for a visit.

I'll be honest, the kid is a straight up sucker if he lets Urban Meyer influence what kind of flavor to get at Dairy Queen, let alone this type of decision.

The more I see and hear about Urban Meyer, the less I like him. If Weis used the kind of recruiting tactics Meyer uses, I would be ashamed to have him as the figurehead of the program.

Honesty is no longer sacred in our society.

It's to much fire for him not to go to Florida, we might as well move on and forget about it. He's not coming here,

BTW they did an interview with him on ESPNU and they asked him who he has been hanging out with and he said, "the guys from the school I'm going to, Spence, etc, and Will Hill." He had the opportunity, to say my teammates from ND, but he left the door wide open for speculation. He's playing the game IMO.

yep. saw that interview as well. later omar. On the good news side of things Cave is dominating everyone and Brandon Newman looks like the second best DT at the AAA game behind Forston and the best NT.
