Great summary bew. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. We've had two past recruits visit Florida, one stayed and the other left. I'm not convinced Omar is gone by a longshot. I think he still ends up ND but the situation is tenuous.

It is rather odd that he didn't get a visit from the staff. It could be that they felt so confident they didn't need to visit, it could mean there were scheduling issues on both sides that didn't make it possible, it could also mean that we've written him off. I hardly beleive it is tha latter because this staff works too hard to give up on someone as talented as Omar.

I know for sure, that it wasn't scheduling problems. But yes, it still makes you wonder.

i believe that CW visited omar hunter on Dec. 11th.

I am surprised he didn't get a visit. Either this means he's so much ours that there is nothing to worry about or did he tell ND not to bother with a visit b/c he's looking elsewhere?

Β

If that were the case of him looking elsewhere, I would think that CW and CB would plant someone on his front lawn to get the visit or at least show him a lot of love...go down swinging especially if the that prick the Cryer is the one who is gunning for him....

Russ, didn't see your post before mine...forget what I was saying except for the Cryer part

Does Darius Walker figure into Omar's equation in any way?

No! omar hunter has already said a while ago that going to ND had nothing to do with walker. he said that he was in either 7th or 8th grade when walker was a senior in HS and even then they didn't really know one another.

Russ, thanks for that. Unfortunately for that visit, Weis didn't get too much ground with Hunter. Omar kinda of blew off Charlie a little bit. During that day, he was in Detroit meeting Jonas and assuring his pledge to the Irish. That's when word broke out about Doc Holliday's visit to Buford and that Omar sought out his attention. Charlie then went down to Buford to make a surprise visit.

Thanks Russ, just trying to get to the bottom of this issue with Omar (if any of it is true) and thought perhaps there may be bad blood with DW not getting drafted - perhaps parents talked with Omar's coach and he put the bug in his ear. Just thinking why the sudden shift - nothing else to it but overactive imagination.

Yes, yes I do. I also have help from some of my fellow roommates from ND, which one of them played football under Lou from 1993-96

Our biggest problem with Omar was that he became a national recruit and seems to like the attention that comes with it.

He was easier to manage when he was under the radar. Now he is promised playing time, women, and cars, all things Weis would never offer him.

whats not good, not able to read the article.
