All this speculation and ranting is really killing what was a great recruiting season. Why can't we all just wait and see, which by the way is all we really can do. I'm sure that the ND staff is on this, and will do all they can to keep Omar.

On Omar.

He has never done anything for us to doubt him, so why are we? I know we have been burned in the past, but lets not take this out on him. Even if he is visiting at least he isn't sneaking around like the other(s) did.

Finally, so what if he visits? If he was your kid, wouldn't you want him to explore all of the options. Heck, even if I had a son, I would love for him to go ND, but I would still advise him to take a look around.

I won't say don't post, because I know that is not going to happen but just wait on things to develop. We have a great class, and this has been one of the best recruiting years to remember. I have faith that everything will work out for the best, because thats just the way the world works.

Welcome to DD Texas. Relax we just chat.

thats what a lot of us said about trattou last year and look what happened i think thats why myself and others are freaking out, becuz of people like trattou and what he did last year

Trattou isn't even comparable.

1. He went behind everyone's back, even his HS coach in talking with other teams.

2. He left because of the system change that was coming. Which you really can't blame him for, even though he did not handle it the right way.

I know we are just chatting, but the talk from here, combined with a few other boards is getting beyond ridiculous.

You can look back in DD Archives, i had a priest guanteening me tratt is N. That's just one of three recuits I mentioned all year long. I tend to stay out of recruiting, but last year I was very informed on just 3. Dumping us was a disappointmetmet by Tratt. I ended up 2 0f 3... so so not bad. I have no hard feelings.

Yeah, Trattou was sneaky about his last year, I wouldn't compare him to Omar.

Yea, I remember last year very well. I thought trattou was a Braxston Cave. A hard-working kid, a little under the radar, who got ND. I was completely blind sided by him jumping. The only guarantee in this game is the LOI, sometimes.

I might check out those archives, thats why I joined up. I like to get different perspectives on all the going ons of the program.

Please do texas... I had that kid a solid up to the jump. Everybody... I mean every one told me he was ND. But i got 2 of 3 so wan't all that upset, cause what can i do about it anyway??? :D

Omar Hunter will be Irish when all is said and done. Last year was completely different with Trattou and I'm sick of people comparing Hunter to him.

Oh yeah, Deion Walker is going to be Irish in less than two weeks so put a smile on your face and stop whining about hearsay from somebody's dentist. Buck up Irish fans.

Things have the potential to get pretty interesting here in a few weeks. We have Walker announcing at the Espn game and then we have Robinson announcing at the ESPN game. Both are announcing on the same day and a lot of irish fans think both could decide for us. So what happens then? Do we take both? Thats a problem I would love to have.

Texas, we for sure take them both. The more the merrier.

Notre Dame is going to be loaded in 2009 with unreal talent bursting throughout the roster.

I can't wait.

Waiting for solid info is no fun. Speculation keeps us going in the off-season.

Load em up baby. We take both and keep taking. We gotta load the team Texas. Whats your opinion on some of the Texas guys we're looking at? Are they coming to ND? I see Cyrus Gray is still checking us out.

I haven't heard too much on Cyrus. Personally I would prefer Milton Knox, but thats just me. However, DeSoto has been known for producing good running backs.

the fact that we were "blind-sided" by the trat deal last year was because we forgot that when you change coaches, you lose recruits. period. i made the case on this board many times that no way the new guys at NU were gonna be able to persuade robinson to "stay home" because CW and crew had the longer relationship with trev. turns out i was right ( for a change ). when the minter rumors got going last year, it put all of our D recruits in play, essentially. it's a credit to CW and corwin that we ended up with what got last year.

i just found this

Irish defensive tackle pledge Omar Hunter shopping around

According to ESPN's Craig Haubert and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Under Armour All-American Omar Hunter is seriously looking at Florida and USC.

His high school coach, Jess Simpson, went as far to call Florida, "a more likely alternative to Notre Dame," in the Journal-Constitution's article.

Simpson added, "I don't think it was so much the season they [Notre Dame] had. I think he's just starting to reconsider where he's going to school and how far away it is and the weather and the climate, and how easy it is for his family to come see him."
