I talked with "The Big Six" as I call them today Rumor wise.

I check all the sites. I then have people EMing me

In chatting with sources I try to get three confirmations before I say anything. I am getting 2 (not 3) that B.Webb is out for good with an injury to that shoulder and cannot play any longer.

Possible transfers in January are Wade, Prince, McNeil and Richardson. (This all comes from 3 sources, plus)

SJ, we definitely have to have some of the same contacts, LOL

Let's plug em in

McNeil going would not be good. Corwin better get him in the office.

I was also thinking that. Didn't he get decent PT this year?

losing Wade, Prince and Richardson aren't big losses in my book, with all the talent coming in they will continue to fall on the depth chart. losing McNeil would be a blow because he gives us quality depth, hopefully gary gray can step up to the plate.

one thing i always hated to see is players transfer from ND and then go to a small D1 school or even go to a D2 school. why throw away a solid education from a top notch university to go to a lower school.

McNeil did see some quality minutes in every game except for the Penn State, in which he didn't play in. From my understanding is that he was pissed that Charlie and Corwin asked Lambert to come back for a 5th year.

Noting set in stone, i am merely passing on some talk sent to me. I will take the fall if none is real for my pals. Passing it on is all i do. noting confirmed

If that is really the case, all I have to say is What a pussy...

Nothing is given, if you want it bad enough then take it. I wish them the best if they decide to leave. But what kills me is that kids these days want to start right away. But how about if the guy in front of you is better, you then leave with out even trying to beat him out. Football is one play away and you are starting type of game. And it happens all the time.

Whatever happened to working your way into the rotation over time and play? IF, IF that is the case with McNeil then I'm speechless really (I'll reserve full judgement until confirmation arrives).

Nothing is ever handed to you in this world, you've got to work to get it. Spend more time in the weight room, more time on the track, more time studying film. Ultimately, you will gain more from that then you would if you didn't put in the work yet still got the job.

Thats too bad about Webb and his injury. Is he going to stay at ND? As far as the others go, I bet Corwin will smooth this over. I have complete faith in that guy. I could see Prince going but he's not going to see the field any quicker at Mizzou. I sure hope they all stay.

I received another 2 that Webb's injury will keep him from playing....

I agree that transfers are guys that are free falling on the depth chart. However, we will never get a veteran group of guys if our juniors and sophmores leave every year.

ND will have a veteran team in a few years. like you said these players (except for McNeil) are falling on the depth chart, they would be vetrens next year but they would be useless if all they do is ride the bench.

I may be in the minority, but I think it is damaging to the program any time you lose solid football players from your roster, of which all of the guys referenced in this thread are. Can you overcome it? Yes. Does it happen everywhere? Yes. But unless the guys who are leaving are attitude or behavior problems, it is rarely if ever a case of addition by subtraction. There are lots of rumors floating right now, and if past history is any example, usually less than half of what you hear at this time of year actually comes to fruition.

I understand. The "Big Six" as I term them are pretty reliable. There is 2 more guys that never ever( I mean ever) want to be quoted but jumped in. So that's the best I can do on this issue. that's what looks developing on this front. We will see.

Disappointing about McNeil--I always liked him ever since his solid outing in the AA game.

Also very sad about B. Webb--it's sad for him and it would have been nice to have the extra depth.

The others if they are not in it let em go.

I would be EXTREMELY disappointed if McNeil cashed it in right now....

There are so many opportunities in the defensive backfield it's not even funny. There is no way that anybody who is even half worth his salt would not see the field on this defense. At the very least at the Nickel or Dime positions.

If you assume that Lambert and Walls lock down the top two spots.... that's still plenty of playing time in Nickel situations. If you assume that Gary Gray beats him out, that's STILL a fair amount of time in dime situations. And that is a lot of assuming. From what we have seen so far, it's hard to believe it will pan out that way. So what could his beef possibly be?

If this does come to fruition and McNeil does transfer, then it would have to mean that he is unhappy with other items within the program and not necessarily his playing time or potential playing time.

Any other position and it might be understandable, but not at DB. Not on this team.

if they leave, i wish them luck , However if they stay i"ll just say this crank it up a notch if you want to play for notre dame, then you will have all the luck{smarts} that you need in this old world. go irish .

i'm with everyone else, i hope McNeil isn't leaving, i really liked what he showed this year. IMO, if he works hard in the offseason he could out Lambert for a spot, or at least split time. I don't like seeing anyone transfer though...not at all...
