Would you rather see USC win or lose this week?

If they win, they go on to the NC game presumably beating Texas and go into next year's game with the Irish possibly still undefeated giving Charlie Company the opportunity to ruin whatever it would be (like 35 straight wins or whatever). I would love to take the horse to Troy and pound the piss out of them.

OR

If they lose, they could very well end up in the Fiesta Bowl with the Irish. A rematch of an absolutely epic game. And I'd have to give the edge to the Irish. #1 Fan support - the Irish fans will make it a home game. #2 Weis will have 1 game with them under his belt with film AND 5 weeks or whatever to prepare AND UCLA game film to study.

Let me say I already have my plane ticket and hotel reservations and will be happy to see Bush, et al again this season if I have the chance.

In this case Penn State would likely play Texas in the NC game. Is it possible a ND-USC rematch would get better ratings than the National Championship?

I can't cheer for them but it would be awesome to stop their super long streak next year.

It would actually be 47 strait games.

For you trivia people, what team was it that the Irish beat and stopped their 47 game win streak? What year?

Dang ryan Bluster i wouldn't know. Coach Dan the stat man is working now...rats.

Whatever, for So Cal My saying has been "no one wins forever." Which means since they are our last game 2006 the whole game lost a bunch of drama. I can't see them but losing to some podunk 2006 prior.

It is also a good reminder to us Notre dame. yes we can sweep a year but again no one wins forever.

PS. I try to use So Cal all the time because officially they stated they do not like that So Cal/ Call them USC or SC. So? So Cal to me.

I hope Ucla beats USC. i never go for the trojans and i dont care about there streak. i want revenge now not next season. the sooner the better and i know that the irish would beat them in the fiesta bowl. also for the trivia...i think its either oklahoma or miami but not sure of the year.

if i had to guess one im saying the sooners?

agree i think it was the sooners...

for the rest of my life i'm going to be hearing about that "great game" nd-usc when NFL MVP reggie bush single handedly took control of the game, etc etc... pushed leinart, etc etc...

really the only way i feel like i can escape that game is getting a do-over... and so rarely in life are you presented with such an opportunity...

someone who's more knowledgable about the bowls than i: if USC loses fiesta bowl would still get the first pick... then orange... than fiesta again... then sugar... would the irish still end up in the fiesta bowl? i've already bought my tickets so i want to make sure when i'm rooting against USC i'm not rooting against an Irish fiesta bowl

It was Oklahoma, circa 1957.

I would rather see USC win out and bring that impressive streak with them to the Coliseum next year. This is party because I want to end the streak, but mostly because I want to shut some Buckeye traps ASAPronto. Besides, I have a double-or-nothing bet riding on the game if we do in fact face OSU. This foolish Bucknut bet me a case of beer that ND would finish with more than 2 losses. Now, in his infinite arrogance, he has taken me to double-or-nothing. I told him to make it MGD.

Bluester, I think if USC loses, it's really a crap-shoot as to where ND ends up. If the Fiesta Bowl gets the first pick, they will realistically be choosing between ND and USC. I think ND still has the edge, but if they did pick USC, ND would most certainly get gobbled up by the Orange Bowl. In my totally unprofessional opinion, you should hope for USC to win. That way, all the foregone conclusions hold true, and we still get the glory of vanquishing mighty Troy next season.

it'll be hard for USC to go unbeaten in the Rose bowl this season plus 10 straight games next year... minus leinart and bush

True, but for a guy with rooms already booked in Tempe, I'd probably be hoping things didn't get shaken up too badly

Just my 2 cents but I don't think it matters. USC will beat UCLA and I think Texas will kill USC. TX has the athletes to stay with Bush and I think Lienhart is the second coming of Gino Torretta. I wanted to see USC fall this year in South Bend. Now i just want to see them fall and i think Weis and Co will hang about 45 on USC next year in the collesium b/c i think Petey Boy will be exposed next year without Chow. It didn't matter this year with Bush and Leihart back I don't even think Willingham and Deidrick could have screwed that up
