Bobby Petrino resigned as Atlanta Falcons coach on Tuesday, having lasted only 13 games with the NFL team. A person within the league told The Associated Press that Petrino quit to return to the college ranks at Arkansas.

i DON'T KNOW THE CIRCUMSTANCES ON THIS BUT SEEMS LIKE WHEN THE YOUR BOSS ASKED IF YOU WERE GOING TO BE HERE NEXT YEAR , YOU GAVE YOUR ANSWER, THEN LEAVE ITS THAT OLD SAYING , I HOPE HE HAS TO PAY BACK SOME MONIES , FOR QUITTING ON THE FALCONS WITH THREE GAMES TO GO , I FEEL THAT HE COULD HAVE AT LEAST FINISHED THE SEASON BEFORE LEAVING . THATS MY OPINION . WHAT SAY YO  U?

Rick. I cabn't be kind to this creep of a coach knowing him personally from Louisvile. He's a "jumper" a ME ME guy, a fraud (a punk) and anyone that get's him is doomed. He's never beenhonest with any coaching job he ever had. If i was his wife I'd be worried about his loyalty to anything. That's my opinion. He's not loyal or honest.

he ended up in a bad situation. took the falcons job thinking he was going to have mike vick then loses his best DL in a trade. His best def player Dangelo Hall doesnt like him, and it's just bad down in the ATL. Their line was always bad, but with Vick, he can escape, with no escapability at QB, they're going to be bad for awhile.

Sounds to be typical of the 'ville, seeing how Rick Petino seems to be notorious for doing the same.

I can't say other then this guy lies... he lies folks cons you endlessly and lies againg. A snake charmer

The Hogs got really lucky. They were staring down the barrel of "Boom Motherf^cker" if Petrino hadnt worked out.

Arkie hasnt been good since they left the SWC, can they be good again with Petrino? Maybe...

i just can't figure out why he didn't go to MICHIGAN , WHATS THE problem there , That has to be the best coaching job in the country .

SJ , SNAKE CHARMER. /////// yOUR HOT TONIGHT , , How long will he last at the HOG FARM ?

He's a quitter

I'll reserve judgement on the guy. You are probably right SJ because the guys coaching history shows that he is constantly in motion. It also indicates that he is a very good college football coach. I think the Razorbacks made a good hire here, at least for now.

No problem stank.,. He's a mover and chosser, I really do pity his wife and kids He's a jumper par excelwnse

this seems to be a trend in Louisville. That psycho John L. Smith did the same thing. Talk about a scum bag. He makes Petrino look like Ghandi. Louisville has kind of become a stepping stone in the college ranks no?

I think it was a bad decision for him to ever go there in the first place, hes a college coach and always will be and then to have the situation he had in Atlanta was just a nightmare with some of the thugs they have there and Vick going to Prison

well it's a done deal so i guess its time to wish him well , i sort of liked the razorbacks, ever since coach lou brought them down to Austin to play coach royals longhorns . stank , i hope your happy that you now have a coach , but how long will he stay . he will produce. .

Bobby Petrinochio makes Saban look like an angel. Urban too. Living in Louisville, I've seen his ways. He has done this many, many times. Here's what I remember.

He was OC at Auburn when he came to Louisville. The 1st year there were rumors of going back replacing Tubberville, which he denied. The next year, he went behind Tubervilles back, his friend and former coach, and tried to get his job. To slip it by the media, he drove to Indiana and took a private plane to Auburn so no one would recognize him at the airport. When the heat got so bad and he and Auburn were embarrassed, the deal went south. It was a done deal until the media pressure.

He flirted with the LSU job before Miles got it, though denied it the whole time. After the 3rd year of this, AD Tom Jurich signed him to a 10 year extension, which Petrino said proved he was here to stay. The buyout was quadrupled. Bobby critcized those who started "unfounded rumors" of his leaving. This was early in his last season with the Cards.

After winning the Orange bowl his last year at UofL, he denied rumors of other jobs, then the news of Atlanta came out. He denied it Sunday afternoon, then he called his team together Sunday night. WHILE ON THE WAY TO THE TEAM CONFERENCE, a commited recruit call his cell and asked him if he was leaving. He laughed it off and told the kid "no, he was staying." 5 minutes later, he told the team he was leaving. Literally, 5 minutes later.

Before the draft last year, he called his star RB, Michael Bush, and told him he would draft him in the 3rd round. He fell in the draft because of the injury. Bobby called him and made that promise. Bush went to Oakland in the 4th round.

He also pulled shenanigans to get his son out of trouble in HS. He and 3 others caught smoking weed ON CAMPUS in a car. Two kids left school, one other kicked out of sports, and Bobby's son went on to lead his team to the state title, where his son was the Senior star QB. It was his weed too. One of the four basically ratted out the others when confronted, so it's legit. His son's plays DII (maybe DIII ball now)

He may be a good coach, but he is scum of the earth. I hate to see any school embrace someone of such low character (hello Alabama) because when I see things like this happen, I think a little less of the world we live in.

Now where do I put this soapbox now that I'm done with it?
