December 5, 200717 yr Man, am I in the wrong here hoping that this rumor is true. If UW fired Ty after three years this would provide further validation of ND's move to fire Ty. ie dude just cannot coach. I know among media and fans it probably wouldn't mean squat. Many I'm sure would still harbor negative feelings towards ND. But for some Irish fans it might be "Ha, told ya so".
December 5, 200717 yr hahaha... C'mon John, we don't need another Mark May on TV. I watched a team called Skyview win the 3A football title over the weekend. The team is really good BTW. It was just funny during the game when I heard the announcer say "Nathaniel Willingham on the tackle." Made my night, it was his son who stood 5'9 weighing 220 pounds.
December 5, 200717 yr sir john , you might be right , but i still think that willingham will get one more year at washington , lets see he made 2 mil from the irish when he was canned , i bet he gets another 3 mil from the bigwigs at Washington, gosh i can hear Mark May now , those idiots at Washington , don't know what there doing letting him go . i hope he gets one more year , just so i won't have to hear Mark and his crap. IF SO GO HUSKIES.....

December 5, 200717 yr Author "I love black people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Show me the moooooney!!!!!!!!!!!" LOL!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ym9ZBg3UCG8
December 5, 200717 yr Author In all honesty, race has nothig to do with it with me and 100% ofthe Irish fans that I know. We all truly like the person and character of Willingham and if he would have done the job Charlie had his first two years and faced the same problems as CW with the recruiting success we are having now. I would love for him to be our head coach! That's the honest to God truth! I not only resent as a Notre Dame fan the implication of racism but I find it appalling that in this day and age and with the open out support and LOVE we show our black athletes and black coaches here now, that racism is even mentioned when it has to do with Notre Dame. If Willingham would have won a NC at ND, he would have become a cherished legend as will CW if he wins one (or more hopefully). And make no doubt about it, ONE more year like this one and I wil be the first in line to sign the "Fire CW" petition! That's just the BLACK AND WHITE truth!!!!! (No pun intended)!

December 5, 200717 yr Well it'll save Washington a few bucks to wait til January 3. Although, were I a judge, being a terrible coach would be proper cause. And in response to Speedster's post above, I cannot stand Ty Willingham the person. He never stands up and takes blame, he throws hisplayers under the bus. I think his refusal to change or evaluate his own performance lets down his players. He works half-assed (at best) at the part of his job that is the LIFEBLOOD of the team (recruiting). And I could go on. I'm not saying I would hire Carl Spackler to cut the hamstring on the back of his leg right at the bottom, because his weight displacement goes back, all his weight is on his right foot, so he'll push everything off to the right. He'll never come through on anything. He'll quit the game. But I'm not not saying it.

So the little guy has his pops by about 60 pounds I'd say.

This was my opinion of him as well, he always blamed others and refused to make changes for the better of the program and instead saved face and made it seem like what he was doing was going to work, when it clearly was not Weis on the other hand has fired his defensive coordinator and hired one who is as tireless as he is in recruiting and made the move for the better of the program and took the blame for every single loss and mistake on the field this year although we all know it wasnt all his fault and flat out said he is going to assess himself, his staff, and his players so help get this thing turned around
