Posted December 2, 200717 yr now that WVU lost and missouri is losing, who will play ohio state for the championship? Georgia doesnt deserve it, they couldnt even get second in their conference. I dont think Ohio state deserves it either, they play absolutley no one.
December 2, 200717 yr The way I see things is that Missu, Kansas, and Georgia are out - if you can't win your division (UG, KU) or you conference (Missu) you shouldn't play for the nationa championship. So that really leaves, for me, USC, LSU, and VT - LSU beat VT by 40+ points this year so that leaves USC, and LSU. I hate USC, and they lost to Stanford, so it is OSU vs. LSU. I'd like to see LSU win because I hate OSU more than anyone and I give Miles a thumbs up for sticking it to those UM a holes As far as Hawaii, lets be honest, they played a varsity HS football schedule. But more importantly college football bowls are about money, Hawaii doesn't travel at all, so you would have a OSU vs UH in a half filled stadium in N.O. for the national championship - no way.
December 2, 200717 yr Why are those teams automatically out?? LSU lost to UK and Arkansas who didn't even MAKE it to the conference title game. Kansas' only loss is to one of the conference title contenders. Missouri's only losses are to the conference champ, twice! USC lost to 4 win stanford and Oregon. UGA lost to UT, who contended for the conference title and South Carolina. AND the biggest thing for UGA is they never got a shot at LSU because the whole system is jacked up. UGA only had a 2 loss season versus UT who went into the Championship with 3 LOSSES. UGA has probably the most legitimate claim, because they got hosed by a faulty football system. If the SEC had taken total schedule into account, like the National Championship will, UGA would have played LSU. The national title doesn't give a crap about stupid conferences and their championship games. It cares who won and who lost and your record. My vote is UGA v. OSU. Losing to UK & Arkansas v. Losing to UT & South Carolina. Looks pretty equal to me and UGA happens to be higher in the polls. Another argument is VT lost to LSU and BC, the eventual conference contender. I eliminate USC, Hawaii (though I think the system is BS when an undefeated has NO chance of playing for the title. This is a perfect example of the little man being held down. THe little conferences should leave the NCAA because the NCAA isn't doing anything to help them...ANYTHING!) I would drop VT, too. Kansas, OK, and UGA are my picks to contend for the National Title...maybe even Missouri.

Missouri isn't going to make it, because when you lose to the same team twice, and that team has the same record as you, you're done. But yes, Oklahoma has a legit case, as does USC (although the Trojans only beat two teams this year with winning records). Kansas is a no because it played one team that was worth a damn, and lost. I'm not sure how Georgia and LSU's losses canceling each other out gives Georgia any kind of edge. I'd imagine that the logical tie-breaker here would be LSU winning the SEC title. Not to mention LSU has beaten four ranked teams (Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and Virginia Tech), and lost both its games in triple overtime. I understand Georgia has been great at the end of the season, but its season has not been as impressive as LSU's. Of course, all that would be a moot point if Kentucky would have taken care of business against Tennessee (or Georgia would have), and the Bulldogs could have played LSU in the SEC title game. Then, there would be no argument. But that didn't happen, so with what we have in front of us now, LSU has done more to deserve this trip than Georgia. Having said all that, LSU is the new No. 2 in the coaches poll, which I think answers this question.
