Ok, so I just want to get caught up on what we have left on the recruiting board. Just watching the recruiting sites and various boards I think we are in good standing with Trevor Robinson, Deon Walker and Gerrell Robinson and have not heard much at all with Josh Jenkins, Matt Pachan, Kenneth Page and Cyrus Gray. So am I the only one that thinks that even if we pull Trevor Robinson we still need a top OL prospect? Do we have any chance with any other recruits not listed at this point? And what are the thoughts on NSD surprises (good or bad).

QB- Done

We have - Dayne Crist

RB- ???

We have - Jonas Gray

Cyrus Gray- Have not heard anything/ do we need him at this point?

WR- Michael was the must! But I still say we take two more if we can get ‘em

We have - John Goodman, Michael Floyd

It looks like we are in good position with both Deon Walker and Gerrell Robinson. Recent comments from Jonathan Baldwin ("They really haven't been recruiting me any more") indicates he might have been scratched from the big board.

TE- Done

We have - Kyle Rudolph, Joseph Fauria

OL- ??? Three OL are not a prime number. ND must get one. Two would be nice.

We have - OT: Lane Clelland, OG: Mike Golic Jr., C: Braxston Cave

With Lloyd Carr and Callahan no longer coaching at MU and NU we should be in good standing with Trevor Robinson.

Josh Jenkins- Have not heard anything

Matt Pachan- Have not heard anything

Kenneth Page- Have not heard anything

DE- Done

We have - Sean Cwynar, Hafis Williams, Ethan Johnson

NT- Done

We have - Brandon Newman, Omar Hunter

LB- Done

We have - David Posluszny, Anthony McDonald, Darius Fleming, Steve Filer

DB- Done

We have - Robert Blanton, Jamoris Slaughter, Dan McCarthy

Welcome to DD Semper fi. I believe Weis stayed in Califoria to recruit after the game so it would be checking our needs agains those West Coast recruits for one.

The WR topic is pretty interesting to say the least. It seems like some ND fans are not happy with ND disengaging Jonathan Baldwin. It seems like most of the heart ache is because of his measurable’s. I really didn’t understand why every one was upset considering we have one 6’4” guy and one 6’3” guy on deck with two 6’4” guys in the bull pen. But after I looked back at his size this morning, I some what understand why some people wanted him so bad. Either way I am very happy with the recruits we have, and I will be ecstatic if/when we land the next couple. Only time will tell.

These are the measureable’s I looked at

Jonathan Baldwin - WR 6'6"/235lbs

Forty: 4.4 Bench Reps: ? Bench Max: ?

Deion Walker - WR 6'4" 186lbs

Forty: 4.43 Bench max: 225

Gerell Robinson 6'4"/210lbs

Forty: 4.58, Bench Reps: ? Bench Max: 240

Michael Floyd - WR 6'3"/195lbs

Forty: 4.55 Bench Reps: ?

John Goodman - WR (6'4"/192)

Forty: 4.5 Bench Reps: ? Bench Max: ?

Sir John…do you sleep?? You have got to live on the east coast judging by the time you were on this morning. Thanks for the reply. Any ideas on who Weis was checking out?

I know we have Cierre Wood the 09 RB prospect out there but I haven’t heard of any others. Either way, its good info Sir John. thanks

As posted in another thread, Baldwin was droped because he couldn't qualify academically. We are still in the game on Gerell Robinson and Harper but we will have to wait until Jan to find out.

As far as OL, it looks like its going to be Trev Robinson or no one. Page visited Tenn after he visited ND and said that he enjoyed the visit there more than his visit to ND. I'm not saying we are completely out of it, but it doesn't look good right now.

Haven't heard much on Cyrus Gray lately, as far as I understand it, we are still in the game.

semper, he's probably checking in on a couple of our present verbals and will be laying the ground work for 2009....................

Semper. As a matter of fact I didn't sleep last night. Daughter cell text my computer sh'e on the way to the Hospital to give birth 3 and gave up . I tossed and turned till. Just got notice a NDD fan was born a few mins ago.Neavaeh Linnae Powl, she's 6 pounds 14 oz and i9 inches. Nevaeh is Heaven spelled backwords  So i just popped into DD to keep awaike till the birth

Congratulations on the granddaughter Sir John!!! What a perfect name for an Irish fan!! Unfortunately it doesn’t look like shes going to be ND’s first Female linebacker with those measurables. :)

Congrats SJ! The Grandfather of them all!! :drunk: :drunk:

Congrats SJ, hope everyone is doing well

Personally, I would state this differetly. We are very much in the game on G. Robinson, Deion Walker and Harper. But Harper is much less likely than the other 2. We have a very legitimate chance to land both Gerrell Robinson (IMO, within a week on GRob) and Deion Walker.

From what I see, these are the guys we still have some chance with:

Cyrus Gray

Deion Walker

Gerrell Robinson

Chris Harper

Kenneth Page

Trevor Robinson

Khaled Holmes (we'd be a big long stretch here but he did visit)

Datone Jones (committed to UCLA but expected to visit ND after season)

I think we land atleast one of the OL due to the fact that we will need more than the 3 we already have and no other offers have gone out. The staff must feel very comfortable with T. Robinson. I think we land atleast one of the WR's and we could very easily land Walker and Robinson. IMO, we DO land both Deion Walker and Gerrell Robinson.

IMO, I say we finish with Walker, G. Robinson and T. Robinson. Than on to 2009.

Semper, welcome to the DD and SJ, congrats on the grandchild.

Congrats SJ... Rock, any chance Weis visits Gerrell before he leaves the west coast.

congrats, SJ!

hey, rockne, whaddya think our chances are with page using percentage points for your answer, s'il vous plait?

This is why I said we are probably going to lose Page, it was in a scout article...

“I loved Tennessee,” Page stated. “It was great up there. I got that at home feeling when I was up there. I’d say it was little better than Notre Dame. Just the feeling. Knoxville reminded me a lot of the Columbia area.

“Not to say I think less of Notre Dame, I have all my schools in the same order. I have high interest in all six of my favorites. Notre Dame is a great school, but the atmosphere in Knoxville gave me that at home feeling.”

Yeah SJ, congrats on your new addition!! :D Family is so important and it is such a blessing when it grows! God bless Nevaeh and her family.

congrats, SJ!

Well that certainly doesn't sound too promising.
