Well, I just started listening to Weis's press conference today and it looks like Sullivan, Kuntz, and Sergio Brown are out for the game. We will finally get a glimpse of our futue o-line without the distractions that Sullivan brings to the table. It should be very interesting to watch.

good, im sick of sullivan just completly sucking and not even being able to do a shotgun snap for some reason, even those hes never had a problem with it until this year, anyone else understand that, cuz i dont

It's a great question.

I play center on my flag football team.

I can snap that damn ball forty yards! LOL!! :D

Who's going to play center, Wenger? I hope he's healthy. He just got back from an injury and then got hurt in the Air Force game. We better not lose to Duke. If that happens Charlie needs to were a paper bag on his head in shame.

I think we'll miss Kuntz more than Sullivan. Kuntz really surprised me this year. He's looking pretty good.

Agree we will miss Kuntz. I am looking forward to seeing Ian Williams get some big minutes.

I listened to a radio show last night and some caller was raving about Eric Olsen, saying how he continues to pound people downfield. Has anyone else seen this? Just curious.

Speaking of lineman pounding players, what puzzled me was seeing Chris Stewart completely pancake a guy last week, only to see him sitting in favor of Duncan the next series. Olsen plays with a lot more passion/edge than some of the other guys I've seen in there.

Β

Seriously though, check the footage from the 2nd quarter. The drive ended with a touchdown if memory serves - Stewart simply used his size/power to squash the guy. Made me stand up out of my chair, since its honestly the first highlight I could remember from the ground game this year.

I don't know if you listened to his presser yesterday IC but Charlie said that Stewart is a significantly better run blocker then pass blocker right now. I'm not sure what we were doing during the series you referenced or where we were score wise but if we felt like we had to pass either for 2 minute reasons or to catch up, that's probably why Stewart wasn't in there. Otherwise, i don't know.

Β

He also said that Stewart may play both RG and RT against Duke.

i think dan wenger will do just fine at center. i liked what i saw from him in the air force game when sully went out, CW said that wenger is much more natural center then he is at gaurd.

I want to log as many minutes as possible THIS season to build our OL for next.

My ideal line for '08 would be:

Β

LT - Young

LG - Olsen

C - Wenger

RG - Stewart

RT - Romine

Β

That's four juniors and one sophomore, all highly regarded and all really nasty. I want to see a mauling, mean line, and if that means they need to take their lumps these next two games, so be it.

nice call on the OL Kat, can't really argue with any of them. next year young and olsen will have two years left, wenger, stewart and romine would have three years left. slowly but surley ND is starting to build OL depth.

No more Duncan please. A ND OL without Sullivan will be nice to see as well. It didn't have to come to this either. He has been a major letdown this year

Wake-up call

Weis stirred some intrigue when he said an unnamed player showed up at his office at 5:30 a.m. Monday, seeking advice on how to become a better leader. Weis called it "one of the most enjoyable parts of my entire week."

Β

Hours later, left tackle Sam Young ended the mystery and copped to being the early and eager riserβ€”though he downplayed the sleepless-night dramatics Weis included. "I just want the team to do well," Young said. "Whatever position I need to be in, I want to fill it."

Β

Dont know if anyone saw this...Great to see Sam taking taking a proactive approach in becoming a leader on the line. He will be the anchor of that line next season.

Not only is the depth nice -- but the fact of the matter is that most of these guys will be upper classmen and leaders. I always watch other college games with envy when I see an O-Line full of seniors and juniors who have been playing and practicing together for three or four years. That's a huge key, especially in the college game, and it's something ND is building.

Β

You can never have enough O-Lineman under scholarship. Keep 'em coming and let's get some nasty big guys down in the trenches, where games are won and lost.

Nice find nd81.... Helps show their is a division in the upperclass Ty guys and middies Weis has, Good for Sam :D
