its a good thing for allen and aldridge or sharpley would be getting so much :censored: from me right now

on the 2nd possession, he shouldve taken off for the end zone instead of sitting back getting hit and throwing it, thank god the guy hit em b/c it wouldve been an INT if he didnt.

Like I said before, he didnt start the first game of the year for a reason.

it sure is very easy to pick on someone, he played a good game . give the fella break. go irish :)

he certainly did not play a good game. he played a game, but it was not good.

i love your positive thinking, but he was not good.

held onto the ball too long, took too many sacks or rushes, and shouldve scrambled a few times when he didnt. we wouldve won in the 2nd ot if he broke for the goal line.

at first glance i didnt think sharpley was the problem, but much like a lot of problems on this team cough cough OLINE, i talked to someone who was at the game and he was missing open guys all day, if jimmy is healthy than put him out there but otherwise it looks like Sharpley is the guy the rest of the year, just gotta get through three more games of this crap hopefully wins, and the future is bright if we get all those guys who verballed to sign a piece of paper...and hey the bball team looks pretty good this year guys hahaha Tory Jackson, Harongoady and co. :D

I just can't believe that there weren't receivers open all over the place. If a DIAA team can throw for 450+ yards on Navy, how can we not? I don't care if every one of our players are true freshmen, they should have 10 times the talent that Navy has, and 20 times the talent that Delaware has. I know Sharpley missed a ton of passes and I know a few of those passes were dropped as well. Our run game is being hindered by our inept passing game. There are problems all over the place, starting at the top. Let's face it, we got beat by what equates to a high school team today. But, you've got to give Navy credit, they smelled blood and went in for the kill. Unfortunately, other coaches have way too much ammo to use against us in recruiting and I will be shocked if we keep our current class as is...shocked.

Actually...the Defense stopped Navy once. So I let some of the blame there. I'd be willing to bet that you guys couldn't come up with a reason why we score 44 points and lose. I know I couldn't. But again, Charlie is to blame for this alone. He cost his team the game.

i would of said the same thing before the USC game about recruiting, but then gray and floyd jumped on, i think we keep our guys we have and hopefully get page and robinson, these guys arent really looking at us this year it seems like, they just think that with the current young guys on the team and them, they believe they will really turn this thing around and i pray they can

I don't like focusing blame on individual college players, but once we're looking at Sharpley, let's look at his receivers. Sharpley made a bunch of mistakes, not the least of which was the last 2-point conversion, where he missed a WIDE OPEN John Carlson in the back of the endzone, instead throwing to a well-covered Parris. And he was too prone to taking sacks overall, including his damn fumble.

But his receivers made some pretty abysmal plays themselves. Aside from Kamara, who made that pretty TD grab and moved well on the Samarzdija WR screen, and Parris' 4th & 14 catch, the WR's didn't seem all that productive. Sharpley actually had some time today. But the intermediate routes still weren't there, and Sharpley ran it a few times even after five-six seconds of protection. Tate never touched the ball - we never even tried the play-action pass deep to him. Also, West and Grimes had some critical drops, particularly Grimes' drop at the end. If he catches it, then I think we get at least the 33-yard FG, at best we get a 1st down and keep moving. If there's a single play where it's easy to pinpoint our loss, it's that one. He's a little hurt I know, but he's not fast or big - the main thing he brings is hands, and he didn't bring them on that play.

I was there. There were wide open receivers everywhere.

Jimmy, barring the loss of his right arm, should be out there at QB. Even were he to lose his right arm, I'd give him a series or two to let me see what he can do with his left.

Sharpley is just not a QB.

How about letting about 10 seconds tick away from the clock before calling a Timeout TWICE IN A ROW at the end of the first half when we were trying to score??!! WTF, we were lucky that didn't cost us and Duval made such a nice play

As I was swearing like a sailor in honor of Navy at Sharpley, my wife kept reminding me he wasn't that bad....my screaming tantrum "bad, not bad, your'e right, he's lousy" didn't sit well until of course he fumbled they scored and she said - yeh "he sucks"

JC must be hurt not to play...

They were open and he waited way to long to make the throws. He would lock on a lot of times with one receiver and the Navy's DBs would then go for that receiver.

Sharpley is the healthy QB and the right side of our Offensive line needs Headassectomies! My gosh did you see that Navy guy leap over the line like the Waterboy and slam Evan? I was thinking that guy should be a Marine! What a stud!

I wouldn't say stud. Armando had been cut blocking him when he had to block and he finally figured it out.

As soon as Armando dived down for the next cut block, that Navy guys just jumped right over him.

I looked at that play a few times and wondered, "why the hell don't you just stay up and try and block normally???"
