Does anyone know anything about this guy? I couldn't find him in Rival's database. He's a 2009 OLB recruit from Texas. I do know his measurables. He's 6'3", 235 with a 295 lb bench, 435 squat and 4.9 40. BG just had an article on him and he seems like he is just waiting for the ND offer so his recruitment can be over. His mom is also Mike Haywood's aunt but he also said that his desire to go to ND was well before Haywood came on board.

His favorites are ND, Alabama and UCLA. In that order.

I hope that 40 time is wrong. 4.9 is slow for an OLB. Might grow into more of a D-end however.

Yep, if that 40 time is correct I doubt he gets and offer at OLB.

he visited for the USC game.

I agree Rock with his 40 times I could only see him as a DE.

I'm sure his 40 time is faster than that. I'll wait until next year to see what he runs.

He could go to speed camp over summer and drop to a 4.7. I know that the average athlete, who takes creatine, can drop their 40 time by 2 tenths of second. Slow 40 speeds impact a 4-3 Def more than a 3-4.

i doubt those measurable are accurate. even rock's and scout's measurables vary. i wouldn't get caught up in that so early. its good to see that he is impressing people at camp.

This early on I'm sure those measureables aren't 100% accurate, at least I hope not. Kelvin has great size and strength though.

Good to hear that we've got a shot at a Texas kid though!!

3-4 linemen and linebackers generally don't need to be as fast as 4-3 players do, particularly in the Patriots' version of the 3-4 which Corwin uses.

But I think if there's one position at which we need tremendous speed, it's 3-4 OLB. We need terrors there to get after the QB, absolutely tremendous athletes like Merriman and Adalius Thomas. Hopefully, Neal and Fleming will develop into those players, but the lack of a truly scary athlete bothers me a little - we could still be great, but a superstar athlete there would make life much easier. The 3-4 features those type of athetes, so we should be able to lure one of them. Doesn't sound like this Kelvin would be the answer.
