After their 2-0 start the media was all on the Ty bandwagon.

Now after a 0-6 run things have gotten pretty silent. I understand this is how the media works, but its pretty funny how quick they called him such a great coach for winning 2 games.

As much as it hurts to get blasted every week, you want that to happen. Because as soon as the media stops caring about a bad ND team you know there are some serious problems.

thats ok we will be back the rest of the season and NEXT YEAR go irish lrt the media have their fun '

Yep, not just the media.... People think we will stop loving our team just because we suck this year!!! I find myself putting on MORE ND gear just to make peoples blood boil. They want ND to go away, but we won't let that happen!

Washington fans are fed up with Ty and company. They are even starting to say "look what he did to ND" in their threads. Do you guys think Notre Dame is about to be vindicated in the firing of Ty? In other words is he going to get fired again?

I don't think there is any doubt that he'll get fired again, but I don't think, in any way, it will lessen the ND retoric. The media and ND haters will never let the Ty thing go, no matter how terrible he performs at other schools. He was one of the first coaches we didn't give the full five years, happened to be an African-American and happens to be a relatively nice guy, just doesn't coach/recruit worth a dam.

You can count on the fact that when ND is back where they should be on the field, that whenever the media/haters want to take a stab at them, Ty's name will come up.

we will never be vindicated of this horrific crime against humanity. who ever heard of anyone losing their job because of shear laziness and running the company into the ground?? honestly germany, i've looked at some of those washington sites and it seems like a few posters feel as though we still screwed ty, but they came to his rescue and it's just not working out. funny, how people can twist a scenario to justify their own situation...........

jfschell, your right. The Typologist are still there but they are starting to get more silent. Oh well, he's Washington's problem now. Im just looking forward to the rest of the season and next year I hope to never hear his name mentioned again. Lets be done with him after this season.

Bottom line is I don't wish Ty any bad will. I hope he is successful at washington. He was not the right guy for ND and many of the problems that were exposed here are showing up there as well. What bother me the most about Ty and his coaching staff are the frequent quotes about "all we can do is coach the guys we have." I think that is insulting to a group of guys who have really played hard this season. It is also cowardly in the sense that if one of his players ever came out with a quote to the effect of "we can only play for the coaches that we have," he would probably be disciplined or at the very least criticized severely.

All i know is the Irish better whoop some Huskie :censored: next season!!

right now the huskies are the much better team.

jfschell, Germany is a fun place to live. Great beer and fast autobahn driving (naturally not together). Awesome cars too. I actually live about 20 minutes from a town called Clausen. I have to go get a picture of the sign and put it up on this board. I am close to France as well (great food over there). I work with a lot of graduates from some of our rival schools but they are all pretty cool about everything. No one rubs ND's record in my face. They all agree that ND is going to vicious in the near future.

I currently live in Washington, and let me tell you, they HATE Charlie Weis, they say Ty never got a fair shot, and he is the better coach. Mind you, this was after the lost to USC, so they felt pretty confident about there team and a bowl game. I told them Willingham would show his true colors, which he has after all the loses. All is quiet in Washington :D

So do I. I get "you guys suck" or "why do you root for such a bad team? You should find a new one." Never

IMO:

I find it the height of irony that the Media have this man crush on Ty, make him out to be a Saint and the same media keep pounding at Weis as arrogent, gross and fat. They can't see Hannah foundation or the Pass Right and other charitable works.

The Washington fans in turn are benning to turn on Ty and want him fired. (Hey that's the same three yeare deal as ND gave him.) On the flip side ND fans, in general, adore Weis in a losing season and are patient. Isn't that the Huskie fans being racist?

As well, Weis shoulders all the blame for this seaon. Ty's pointing fingers at his players you don't see the Media jumping on that difference.

Of course the media isn't going to come out and jump on Ty. That would go against much of what has been said in the past few years. Admitting that Ty isn't getting it done at UW would lend support to ND's cause for canning his sorry a$$. When he does get fired you will not see any cries of UW's backwards ways. It is a double standard. Whatever though, everyone is always looking to take shots at ND. Scheduling, tv contracts, BCS contracts, personnel matters, doesn't matter. Rest assured when ND starts winning it will continue.

Unfotunately, the media wouldn't jump all over TY because of the color of his skin. No national paper or magazine wants to tackle that giant. Just reality there...and I don't blame em. It would be public suicide for any writer or publication to trash Ty. It was one of the risks ND took when they hired him. It shouldn't be a risk, but it is. That being said, I truly think the guy is all class. He makes it impossible for the media to hate him. I have several family members that work at ND and by all accounts the faculty loved the guy. Great person...terrible football coach.
