why? because he forced MSU's kick returner out of bounds on that long return? The guy got smoked all over the field and gave up a 3rd and 17. He is far from solid. I can't believe how much all of these 5th year seniors, our supposed leaders, have regressed. All of them, aside from Crum.

Dont forget Laws.

Wooden is definitely bad. Brockington shouldnt be on the field. Our receivers have no breakaway speed. At WR, we should bring munir prince back over, put armando out there, and put a big back in the backfield. We need to do something regarding the WR threat.

you can add shawapp to that list, i dont know what charlie sees in him. i have never seen him convert a short yardage situation.

good call Canadian Irish, I don't know how I could possibly forget Laws. I guess I was thinking he was a regular senior. Laws and Crum have been stellar, and I'm not as big a hater of Brockington as most people. At least he'll fill a hole and hit someone. More than we can say about Zibby and John Sullivan.

I completely forgot about Laws too. He is playing really good this season. tis a shame the rest cant be playing like him

Personally I think Crum and Laws are the only 2 that are ready to be starters in the front 7 for the defence. Everyone else either doesnt have enough talent, or is too young, or a bit of both.

what about the punter Geoff Price? he had some terrible punt attempts on Saturday. he was great last season but this season not so much. if ND is going to be struggling some on offence they need to have a consistantly good punter.

speaking of Price, my step dad and i had to start laughing at the game (or we might start crying). In the 2nd half, it was after price had cooted the ball on the ground, 43 punted the ball and we held them to almost no return...My step dad said msu must have not been ready and thought price was still in.

Special Teams was depressingly bad.

Laws has been playing like a first round pick this season. Wooden hasnt been playing well neither has Lambert. Darrin Walls got beat a couple times yesterday but the QB missed him once and the other time Lambert left his man after Walls got beat inside for a TD.

One of the more puzzling aspects of this team. Price is killing us in the field position battles and its killing our def.

Totally agree Laws is the real deal he will be a late 1st round pick. Crum is a great player but is an OLB not an ILB. He gets blown up on occasion, although that could be attributed to our DL having some lapses at times. We have to play our Frosh and Sophs! apart from Laws and Crum our 5th year guys just aren't getting it done.(Zibby hasn't done anything bad or good). Young at left tackle was a great move. He will dominate by seasons end! Kamara and Parris on the outside, Grimes in the slot. Tate and AA must see more touches. Pound Aldridge and Hughes ALL DAY LONG!!! And run them behind Young!!! AA for change of pace. Neal is a difference maker and should start opposite smith. FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST GET BROCKINGTON AND VERNAGLIA OFF THE FIELD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They belong in Pop Warner! I was definately encouraged by Aldridge and some of our other young players. we will get better and who knows.....by USC we might suprise some people. Maybe??

Laws is flat out ridiculous, i really really really, did i say really...like Brian Smith and Kerry Neal, those guys will be great contributors throughout this season and further into their careers

Re-watched the game... or the parts I liked anyway... and definitely we should just be going Aldridge, then Hughes, with a sprinkle of Armando... to at least set-up the play-action or a quick slant every now and then

Plus ... we just need to eat up the clock to save the D.

Duncan trys hard, but he's out of place... but I guess the deck isn't full enough to take him out.

On D... love to see Neal & B. Smith more... Laws, Kuntz & Bruton are beasts... and I can only see Bruton getting better. Zibby seems to be a non-factor, which is disappointing, but not absolutely surprising.

Secondary is acceptable, though Wooden and Lambert look shaky for their experience, Walls is holding his own, growing into the position.. sometimes gets beat, but is close to the man.

Everyone is talking about weak links, ( & there are plenty),................& Charlie says he'll play the best guys............My question is: Why does Charlie continually start the same guys? Does he not believe in his own philosophy?

Are you in a better positions to determine who is the best guy than the coaching staff? What does best mean to you? I posted in the WR thread that most talented doesn't necessarily mean best at this point in time.

I have to agree with you.

As much as I want to see Golden, Parris and Duval, there has to be a reason they aren't getting more time.

As for Ambrose and sometimes Lambert, these guys are killing me.

Just once I would love to see them in such good position that they can actually look into the backfield and try to make a play on the ball.

It's as if Corwin has told them, "just keep the guy as close to you as possible and when you see his eyes light up, put your arms in the air!"

On another note, doesn't anybody have any info on Kallen Wade? I don't know that I've even seen him on the field.
