You can talk all you want about baby steps, improving, we are better than our record, bad luck, etc., but at the end of the day it has been almost my entire life since ND has been relevant. Enough with the excuses. Wins some games.

Everyone speaks with such authority it is hard to know who to listen to and who to ignore (unless they have a history). I think I'll go with the good old reliable "expect the worst and pray for the best."

I've noticed a lot of people that bring up Charlie's first class when defending Coach Kelly however I'm not sure how accurate a comparison that is. Charlie was coming from the NFL, had essentially no college experience, and was in the midst of a run to the Super Bowl (meaning he was still coaching at this point). Kelly on the other hand, led his team to a top 5 ranking, has been able to devote all of his time to ND since the end of the season (give or take a week), and had already established a relationship with several recruits, yet the results appear no different than Charlie's despite all the seemingly logical advantages in place.

If true, this is great news. South Bend needs some more athletes in the locker room especially with the uncertainty surronding this year’s recruiting class.

In a year or two Brain Kelly might mean something to recruits but right now I don't think he has that kind of pull with recruits.

With all these rumors circulating it's going to be a tough pill to swallow if ND ends up with Kelly.

So is Stoops officially out of the running?

If Stoops wants to come to ND you hand him the keys to the kingdom and get out of his way.
