I just hope that ... for once ... we can stop doing the "Brian" cheer at the end of the third quarter. I always felt that it was "Lou's" cheer, and that doing it for anyone else was absurd. This experience has showed me that there are few coaches who deserve it, and Lou was the last of them.

The thing that I don't get is if it "isn't any big deal" why doesn't Kelly just diffuse the tension? It seems like the media (and the fans) are running with these doomsday scenarios, and all Kelly has to say is say something....anything. At least, Chip Kelly was transparent as to what he was doing. Right now, Brian can't say the same thing.

Mike Farrell said on the Midwest Chat today that "There's a good chance OU steals away Okotcha I'm hearing."

Teams rely upon seniors in particular to lead. The 2007-2008 teams had virtually none of any quality. In 2007, CW had nothing to work with. In 2008, he should have improved and he did slightly (we all thought the Hawaii win was a sign of good things to come). In 2009, he should have been much better with four full recruiting classes, but he didn't and he was gone. No doubt well deserved. But, I'm tired of people blaming the "state of the union" on Weis. I place the blame on the laziness and incompetence of Willingham. Having known people at ND at that time, I know that he did less than nothing. He is the not the sole cause, but by far the largest cause of the issue.

You are way off base on this. Weis may not have been a perfect coach. But, he did everything he could to bring success to ND. Willingham was the direct cause of the bad years in 2007 and 2008. It was his complete lack of effort that resulted in two pathetic recruiting classes in 2003 and 2004. They were two of the worst recruiting classes in ND history. Those two recruiting classes were the primary reason for the poor seasons in 2007 and 2008.
  8. I know that to be a fact. That is why I was so surprised that PSU does it differently (and was totally mislead on the Ishaq information). ND doesn't take that lightly. Looks like there were no hurdles. You can break out the bubbly.
  9. I think that its been over for a while, and we've just been along for the ride.
  10. Apparently, he wasn't referring to Ishaq, FWIW.

Tweeted less than 20 minutes ago: BlueandGold.com gets word from Alice Lynch, Aaron's mother, that "FSU is totally out."

  14. No info, but I actually think that was the case, but something must have changed. The whole on-line directory things is finally getting some steam on the message boards (don't know why it took so long). School starts on PSU for Monday. If he delays the decision, I think that bodes well.
  15. That's only because the internet wasn't created when we went to school.
