Collinsworth
Seems to be a few doubters about his talent here, I guess folks are more comfortable with what they can see. Having seen him play for several years in high school, I know what he can do on the field, at multiple positions. I get high school is different, but he is a very smart player, son of a NFL'er, and gives 100% effort. I have no doubts about him at all.

Morgan Newton Indiana QB
Moss says he wants to play FB, as evidenced by him giving up the last half of his AAU season to visit colleges. Morgan actually committed about 3 weeks ago to UK but it was just anounced. I spoke with a guy who knows the dad, and he told me a few weeks ago. Everyone here (Louisville, KY) doubted me since they just signed Moss. I guess I should have laid some money down.

LaLota's in Ann Arbor
Zach Martin's last vist was to UM too, which only broke their hearts even more.

Fastest player on the team?
I know what he's talking about, don't you? Flaget High School should be known by ND fans, since we got a Heisman trophy winner from that school. It was Paul Hornung's school.

Nick Montana enrolls at Clausen's HS
Joe Cool didn't exactly tear it up his 1st few years at ND. He was just an afterthought. I think folks look back on him like he was a four year superstar, or while wearing their SF 49'er's glasses. I would welcome Nick, and hope he matures like his daddy did. He's already bigger than Joe was.

Ward or Martin
A month ago I would have said Martin to UK. YES, UK! His dad played FB there, and is great friends with several coaches, including Joker Phillips, soon to be HC at UK. His mom was a trainer for the FB team, where she met dad. The family still has season tix to UK games, and have been around the program since Zach was little. But things have changed in the last month, with UM and ND in the picture. Zach may want to forge his own path at this point. Chuck Smith, who is recruiting him for UK, has recently said he doesn't expect him to attend UK anymore, and that UM is leading for his services. I haven't verified if he said that BEFORE or AFTER his last surprise ND trip, as I heard the info the very same day from a UK insider who spoke with Smith. I don't think that cleared anything up here, but...... I win if he chooses ND or UK, since I support both. ND first of course, for the 40 year reason.

EJ Banks has moved up OSU visit
OSU has actually pulled two out of Louisville this year, which is amazing for our area. Jordan Whiting, the strongest guy in KY, and Justin Green, the fastest guy in KY. Justin is brother of Marcus who played for OSU.

Morgan Newton Indiana QB
I hope he ends up at UK, as he is number 1 on their wish list. He is/was very high on them until Meyer entered the pic. Hopefully he or his dad see Meyer for what he is.

Why not TyQuan Hammock?
I too get caught up in the star ratings when is comes signing day. But a team stacked with top talent doesn't gaurantee a NC. Look at USC, they really should have won 2-4 more NC's with the talent on that team this decade. I think teams need role players like Da coach is saying, though not sure whether his players are the guys are not. Thats up to the coaching staff. Too many chiefs and not enough indians on a team is bad for moral. I am a UK fan as well, and they've done this on their basketball team forever - make sure their are KY kids on the roster. KY kids get a break from the fans if they underperform, while the McDonald all-americans don't.

June 28 visitors
Ahhhh, I was there and we went out of South Bend for a day trip that day. My bad. We did drop by that night and I saw a couple long golf carts at the Gug, so that must have been the "tour". Sounds like the visit impressed a few folks!

Pat Muldoon - DE (OH)
Zach Martin has a great chance of ending up at .......don't laugh.......UK. He has strong family ties to that school and they are putting together a decent line as well. Zach's dad played for UK and mom went there as well. She was a Lexington native. IF it was up to the parents (from dad's mouth), THATS where he will go. But you know kids these days..... Just putting it out there in case he goes there, then I look like a genius!

Jelani Jenkins Vid (Rivals)
Makes sense. It is the "Ivy league of the South"!

Goebel's uncle was kinda bizarre don't you think? He was almost like he was in his posse, and I followed him over there early on. I'd expect family to act differently I guess. Seems he wanted him at tOSU anyway, so all worked out well for both of them.

Calabrese a 3* on rivals?
The best HS QB I ever saw, until seeing Brian Brohm, was Tim Couch. From Hyden, KY. Yes, THE Hyden, KY. He always got a bad rep for setting national records while playing for a small school, against weak competition. Some still stand I believe. Then he went on to UK, where he again set national records against top rated SEC defenses. He was on par with Peyton Manning, and Peyton said so himself. Sometimes it doesn't matter where you live, or who you play against. It just makes it hard for recruitniks to justify you. Maybe these lower start rankings will help us. Now other players don't see as much competition, seeing so and so is only a 3*. In the end, we have a lower ranked player who does what we need, along with a higher star to boot. Win-Win.

Manti Te'o
Teo is the one guy I wanted more than anyone in this class. But, don't think we get him. I'm certainly not gonna hold being Hawaiin (Ching) against him, otherwise we would have to eliminate every state or religion that ever sent us a failure.
