USC @ Roids
This was early 2000's and Division III so take it for what it is worth. They only tested us when we were in the playoffs and then it was a random sample. By random, they chose 3 or 4 guys and they gave a pi$$ test. No idea how Division I does it or if D3 still does it that way but it was done by the NCAA. And there were dudes in D3 doing roids so I can only imagine what happens at D1.

2012 In Retrospect: Would you Rather?
My 2 cents. I would rather have the 12-0 season. I refrained from watching or listening to espn or anything sports related for 2 weeks after the championship game I think it helped in my healing process. Looking at it from a positive spin. I think Kelly gained a lot from the experience... he learned first hand how far we still needed to go and got experience with the long layoff schedule of 6 weeks or whatever it is between end of season and championship game (which is ridiculous). I was rooting for Georgia in the SEC championship game just for that fact that Saban and his players had been there and knew the routine we were learning on the spot. Not saying the result would have been any different, but that wasn't the same Irish team we saw at the end of the year. I still think bama beats us last year 8 out of 10 but not the wood shed beating we took if we played one week after the USC game. We laid an egg no doubt but in retrospect I would still prefer the 12 and 0 than the other scenario

The Field
It F'ing sucks. They need to put in field turf already. If they want natural grass hire a team of professionals to care for it. I know this has been debated to death but seriously it is a liability for our players ....ND has the money either way and what we have had isn't cutting it.

Frustrating
If I were to use one word to explain this season it would be frustrating. When we win it still feels like we lost. I fully believe Kelly is the man for the job and has done a great job so far his first 4 years but damn it is frustrating. The frustration in my mind is due mainly to our offensive production or lack thereof. When Kelly came aboard I thought we were going to run an uptempo offense that slings it all over the field. We have yet to run anything similar to what Kelly ran at his previous schools. For the most part it boils down to the Qb position and not have the right type of QB or a QB with a handle of the playbook enough to run the offense. Rees as much as I appreciate what he has done for the program is like fitting a square peg in a round hole he can't run and struggles with accuracy. Golson who should be a prototype for Kelly's offense just seemed lost at times last year but even still we never ran uptempo. I chalked that up to relying on your strengths and allowing your D to win games. I was looking forward to this season with Golson hopefully having a full grasp and being able to run the offense the way Kelly's teams did in the past(pre ND) but we will have to wait until next season hopefully before we see that. It has to be frustrating as well to Kelly to be handicapped at the most important position but there just are some things I still can't get a grasp on. Why do we have an empty backfield with 3rd and short on multiple occasions. The D knows Tommy is not a threat to run. Keep a back in if nothing else to give the D something to think about. It seems as though we continue to try to run the offense as though we don't know we have an immobile QB. I guess my point is that we have yet to see an Kelly team with an ideal QB or an experienced mobile QB for the Kelly offense and we are still winning games. Overall I am very pleased with what Kelly has done with recruiting and winning games however ugly they maybe. It is just frustrating as hell.

Former Golden Domer In-Person Sightings
My freshman year at IU I partied with BJ Scott, Joey Goodspeed, and Jim Sansin. It was a crazy night and we ended up having to hide from the police is all I can say. A buddy of mine went to high school with BJ Scott

Some of u guys need to get a grip
it's a minute rice world we live in.......I won't even entertain your argument as it is wrong on so many levels. I will just say this..... the last thing that needs to happen is to fire Coach Kelly......not sure how that isn't a given. Even if you don't think he is the answer you should know that no one who is worth a grain of salt would want this job if he is fired after three years let alone two. How about we give him atleast 3 years before we try to fire him. I know on XBox in my dynasty we already won 2 national championships by now and we got every 5 star. Its easy not sure why that doesn't translate to real life.

What is the biggest line you've ever seen?
With Boob Davie coming in next year he is atleast good for a couple point improvement. Next year that line will be at a more respectable 46.5. What a mess he is walking into.

hinton
at least it is a change from the other regime of replacing a coach after he was fired instead of having to replace a coach because he was actually wanted by another program. It is a good sign in my opinion that our assistants are coveted by other programs

Losing confidence in Kelly
"Stupid is as stupid does" my take on some of the recent threads regarding Kelly's job status or lack of progress by this program. stupidity and lack of patience must be somehow related.

If Luck were Irish
compare our roster and Stanfords roster. We compare favorably in almost every way except QB. Where is Stanford currently ranked and where are we currently ranked? I would say we have better skill players than Stanford...RB and WR and TE. Our OL is is very comparable, our Defense also compares with Stanford. When you get to QB however there is the difference. You are right we do have other issues than QB. But there isn't a team in college football that doesn't have a weakness. One thing is for certain the really good teams either have an elite D with a game managing offense (Alabama and LSU) that doesn't turn the ball over or they have an elite QB (Stanford, OK St.).

PSU Scandal (reportedly up to around 20 victims now)
Not sure if any of you have seen that the DA that investigated the first Sandusky case in 1998 disappeared in 2005 and they found his car in a parking lot and his laptop in a river with the hard drive missing then later found the hard drive so damaged they couldn't retrieve data from it. Some fishy stuff here is a link to the article from NY times. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/09/sports/ncaafootball/questions-on-sandusky-wrapped-in-2005-gricar-mystery.html?_r=1&ref=sports

PSU Scandal (reportedly up to around 20 victims now)
I read the Grand Jury indictment yesterday and it is just sickening to read. Everyone involved should have to pay for their role in this. Sandusky IMO should be executed. I don't know why crimes like his do not carry a life sentence/execution these sickos oftern get released to commit the same crimes and in my mind this is just as bad as committing murder. After reading this is my understanding of the timeline.... McQuerry after telling his dad about what he saw told the entire story to Joepa with graphic details the day after incident (that occured in 2002). JoePa then the next day two days after incident occured told AD and VP but according to testimony he only reported that something sexually inaapropriate occured. The testimony then says that the AD and VP determined by what they were told from Joepa and Grad Asst that it was just horseplay that occured... and they also say they didn't have knowledge of police report that took place in 1998. They waited a week and a half to talk to McQuerry and didn't even attempt to find out the identity of the victim. They only decided to ban Sandusky from bringing children on campus he was still allowed on campus and still maintained an office. Grand Jury determined McQuerry's testimony was accurate and the VP and AD were lying. I cannot imagine a worse response to this by all involved and all involved need to pay for there lack of action for not only this incident but all the others that could have been prevented. I am wondering what exactly JoePa told the AD and VP as it seems to me that he downplayed the incident when reporting it.
