This will be the 181st consecutive sellout at Notre Dame Stadium (the first 130 coming at the old 59,075 capacity) The USC game marks the 229th home sellout in the last 230 games (dating back to 1964) It also is the 175th sellout in the last 200 Irish games and the 40th in the last 43 games involving Notre Dame dating back to the end of the 2001 season.

As Number One USC enters Notre Dame this saturday. It will mark the 5th time in Notre Dame history that the Irish will face four ranked teams in its first six games of the season (according to the AP rankings) The Irish have already taken on #23 Pitt, #3 Michigan and #22 Purdue and walked away with a victory in each of those first three contests.

Until this year, there never has been a Notre Dame season with both four of the first six games on the road and a five game homestand.

This year's five game homestand features a showdown with Navy making the Midshipmen the only school to appear all three times the Irish schedule has permitted such an extended stay in South Bend.

In the three seasons of the last 20 have sent the Irish on the road for four of their first six games, the team has compiled a combinded 14-2 home record led by 5-0 home seasons from Holtz in 1987 and 1989.
