Guest IrishTobey
IMO the most important play of the game was the Mike Richardson interception. With all due respect to Jeff S and Brady Quinn and the plays they made that interception is microcosm of the impact of Charlie Weis and the new coaching staff. A couple of points. 1. that interception was made after a ND TO. The team didn't crumble they came back and responded. 2. that play was well scouted. that was a play MSU killed ND with. It's kind of misdirection wheel route and it's also a play Purdue loves to run. ND had it scouted and Richarson showed great discipline to stay at home and take care of his assignment picking up the running back out of the backfield. 3. Richardson showed terrific athletic ability on that play. the running back actually had him by about 5 yards at the 20 yard line but Richardson beat him to the ball and finally number 4. the DB PLAYED THE BALL. Can I get an AMEN!!!!! To me that play was everything we've been waiting for. That play was the result of coaching, scouting, athleticism and determination that quite frankly ND has not made in several years.
