Senior Day! Hopefully the IRISH win this one for the seniors. Virginia is dangerous because they just upset #18 Pittsburgh in a close game I believe 24-19. The good news with that is they just played a hard fought 4 quarter game and ND had a bye and FSU who didnโ€™t play up to their standard. Trap game as always but I think the ranked win by UVA and what is at stake for Notre Dame should get their attention.

I guess they will release the press conference link while Iโ€™m working on Monday. I liked when they released them early but no such luck.

@Mike Iโ€™ll need some help/retraining on the tagging with the new software

@NYGoldenDomer could you update the ranking on Tuesday if its needed

@Baldy if you see the press conference on youtube on Monday will you link it? Iโ€™ll be working to at least 2 PM.

My work family sweet people and lots of Penn State fans with disabilities are holding a tailgate party at the office.

Should I:

A. Go. Listen to the Notre Dame game on the radio in my office. Game starts at 3:30 PM(same as ours). I know streaming apps but my office wi-fi is less than optimal and I want them to project PSU streaming for the people.

B. Stay Home. Watch ND as normal, be here for the thread.

C. Watch the other game put on a happy face and watch ND later.

Thanks for the input!

Faith

Turns out i do have to work the PSU game event saturday at my office, So iโ€™ll be more active after the game.

  • Nice little setup on NBC to be able to watch ND basketball right before ND football. My wife is thrilled about 6-7 hours of ND sports on the tv.

Virginia is a hard hitting bunch that hunts the QB. The game changing play was a late hit they got on Pittsburghโ€™s starting QB

Hereโ€™s the clip from the condensed game.

They use Chris Tyree much like ND did last year. motion slot receiver/kick returner. He had a nice catch in the 4th quarter and a solid Jet sweep play early. We know he can get loose on kick return.

This is gonna be a paint swapping hard hitting game.

Be smart Riley Leonard they arenโ€™t above hitting you late and high.

This will be my kidsโ€™ first game in the stadium. Canโ€™t wait!

I can definitely do that, @FaithInIrish Forever! Easy peasy!

As far as what you should do, I vote B! ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sure thing! Mods and members can use the tags โ€œgamedayโ€ or โ€œnewsโ€ when applicable.

Itโ€™s a pretty loose rule, but gameday threads and topics like gameday recipes, ticket exchanges, and tailgate meetups are examples that make sense for the gameday tag.

Iโ€™m still refining the tags process, but let me know if you want more guidance with it in the meantime. Thanks @FaithInIrish Forever !

I think Virginia is a solid team that ND should handle. With the win against Pitt, Freeman should be pointing out how important this weekโ€™s preparations are. No slip ups against a solid but inferior team.

This is why I hope they keep disrespecting ND. So Freeman can keep using that chip.

I hope someone puts a good hard legal pop on Tyree. I donโ€™t want him to get hurt, but make him regret leaving. Remove him from the game mentally.

Howard Cross is out for Virginia. He may return for Army. I hope Hinish plays like he did against FSU.

Irish DT Cross out vs. Virginia with ankle injury

Notre Dame will be without one of its top defenders this week against Virginia as defensive tackle Howard Cross, a second-team AP All-America selection in 2023, will miss the game with a left ankle...

If he has the ball, they should stick him. However, I do not begrudge him for leaving. He got his degree. If he prefers Virginia thatโ€™s fine. I suspect he was either directly or indirectly nudged towards the transfer portal.

Truly I would rather have Price or Love running the ball than Tyree. I liked Tyree, but these two are better IMHO. I think Tyree is playing slot at Virginia. Would he be better than NDโ€™s current slot guys? I liked him early in his career but it does seem like leaving was best for him. Now heโ€™ll have an undergrad degree from ND and a Masters from UVA. Pretty solid.

I donโ€™t see how anyone could hate Tyree. He came here in hopes to be the top back. He never reached that potential and eventually started losing Carrieโ€™s to better backs. They asked him to be a slot back and he did it. He got his degree and moved on. Congrats to him.
