Irish down 2 in the AP poll after being idle. Call it what you want, I think ND is being punished for TAMUs bad loss.

So the Irish drop 2 places while idle.
Clemson free falls down to #19 where they should have been all along.  They have beaten no one all season.

The Texas A&M loss really stings for us, they're down to #15.  They can still make some noise in the SEC so long as they win out.  They still have Texas at home their last game of the season.  Georgia and Tennessee play each other so one of them will have a second loss to knock them out of SEC contention.  If Alabama can beat LSU that will give LSU a second SEC loss and should knock them out as well.  We want A&M to keep their one loss in the SEC to ensure they play in the SECCG.

Army is up to #18,
Louisville jumps back into the top 25 at #25.
Navy loses to a 1-5 Rice team, suffice it to say I doubt they have a chance to jump back into the to 25.

I swear, I’m a bit annoyed at Indiana being at #8. They have played no one good, and it really should be BYU #8, Notre Dame #9, and Indiana #10. I agree with the Coaches poll, but whatevs!

The AP is a joke, and CFP rankings come out Tuesday. Hopefully that will get things right, but the Committee is pretty bad at times too, so we shall see! 🤞🏼

The scenarios are all in line to keep A&M in the SECCG.  They just have to all happen correctly.  Regardless of their loss last night the best thing that can happen is if they keep winning and win the SEC championship.

We really could have used a Penn State win yesterday.  Now we have to hope one of Washington, Purdue(this would help us best since we curb stomped them), Minnesota, or Maryland can give PSU a second loss.

Ohio State still plays Indiana and Michigan.  In fact all three of them still play each other.  Indiana beating OSU and a few Michigan wins would be great.

This is it right here!

Let’s hope it all works out in Notre Dame’s favor! 🤞🏼

Exactly what I said!

One thing I’ve learned through the committee. What you see in the AP will not be what you see from the committee. I think it all depends on what they think of the NIU loss. But, as one pundit said, what you saw with that loss was just a blunder from ND coaching and players as whole. ND tried throwing more and had a career low on running attempts. If they look at it that way, ND is probably ranked 6th or 7th.
Also, ND had the largest point discrepancy this month than any team. Including IU. So, it’s not like ND is just hanging with teams. They are manhandling them.
Lastly, which he did make a good point.  How do they look at ND’s injuries. O-line, BMo, D-line etc. But ND chugs along.

The only thing that really worries me is the injuries. The Committee normally ranks teams lower due to this, and Notre Dame has had a lot. However, most have been on Defense and not in key areas on offense like QB, RB, and WR! *Knock on Wood*

I guess we shall see here soon, so hoping they’re ranked at #10 at the least. 🙏🏼

Things will play itself out in the coming weeks. ND just has to keep winning and they will easily get a home game in the 1st round playoffs. Depending on if these conferences continue to beat themselves up, they could still get the #5 seed, especially if ND keeps dominating their opponents (I think they should beat the next 3 teams by double digits easily if they come ready to play). I think they could beat USC by 10, but it is less likely compared to the other 3 games.

I think the injuries is not insignificant, but it is not like last year when the Committee rejected FSU because their star QB got injured at the end of the season.  We have had multiple significant injuries, but have weathered all of them such that there has not been much if any drop off in terms of overall team performance.

Army is the most interesting inclusion.  I would not have figured either Indiana or Mississippi as a top 20 defense.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised by Army, Ole Miss, and Indiana in here too!
