I believe he has a broken finger or some other fake injury that gave them the excuse not to play him.

DJ probably remembers the welcome ND gave him when he started for Clemson in South Bend.  

It wont matter what QB they roll out. They will not be able to protect him and none of them are very good even when they have time to throw.

Agreed.  FSU is one of the more talented rosters that we will play this season.  I am hoping that they are simply done for the season but fear that all they have left is to ruin our season as motivation.  

I'm hoping for cold weather that makes them unwilling to even get off the bus.  In 2018, we played them at ND for a November night game and it was cold.  We ended up winning 42-13.  I would love a repeat where we score more and they score less.  

This will be FSU's bowl game. I highly doubt FS will be able to hang with ND for 4 quarters, but I also thought that the Irish would destroy NIU.

We don't have any influence on the game. FSU has been terrible each and every week, ND should beat them by 21+ points. It will be up to Freeman to keep them focused, not us on a message board.

I meant the team...

This game does worry me a bit, and for all the reasons already mentioned. I just don’t want it to be a let down. The good thing is Freeman does have a good record coming out of the Bye Week, so let’s hope it continues and ND destroys FSU!

Guys, FSU is one of the worst teams in the P4. They have talent, sure, but they are not a team. They are 1-7 for a reason. They rank 132nd in scoring offense (14.9 points/game). That's next to LAST in all of college football. They rank 131st in total offense (272.5 yards/game) and 104th in yards/play (4.46 yards/play). They rank 82nd in scoring defense (26.38 points/game allowed) and 80th in total defense (379.4 yards/game allowed). FSU is truly awful.

ND is obviously playing like one of the Top 10 teams in the country, with the offensive and defensive stats to back it up. They have won their last 6 games, including 2 over ranked opponents, by 31.3 points/game. They are dominating all teams. That will continue against FSU. Since winning their only game against Cal (14-9), FSU has lost their last 4 games by an average margin of  17.8 points. 

It's going to be a cold, dreary night game in South Bend in November. The last time these guys came up to South Bend in November (2018), they got smoked 42-13. ND's players were warming up without shirts on. The FSU guys were all wearing huge coats and huddled under space heaters. They are not built for a November game at Notre Dame Stadium, especially when their season is over and they have nothing to play for. Sure, they might come out wanting to spoil ND's season, but when they get down 7-0, 10-0, 14-0 in the first half, they will throw in the towel. Norvell cannot get these guys up for games. They played their most hated rival last week in Miami, and they got trounced 36-14.

My overconfidence has nothing to do with how ND prepares. Freeman talked about the NIU loss after the Navy win and says its a constant reminder for his team - he basically said it's good the loss still stings because it motivates the coaching staff and the team. I don't expect anymore letdowns in 2024. FSU is no exception.
