I guess my only question is, how many more consecutive losses will he be afforded before being fired?

His record is currently a perfect 0-3.  Will you find it ok if he goes 0-4?  Will you continue to call for a sacrificial lamb in Tommy Rees who was 21-3 before MF?

No choice lol...

Already concerned on MF... body language was scary last week.

MF inherited a better FB team than BK. Much better. IIRC in 2010, started 1-3 (two were vs top 25), but later won vs another top 25. I think we played 5 ranked that that year.

Anyway, already concerned lol.

He looked like a deer in headlights at the end. Don’t like the head coach with that look on his face with the game on the line.

So far, this is an experiment gone terribly wrong. ND should beat a team like Cal by 21+ at home.

1000%

IMO, he needs to forget (a few months) about cheering, and forget about working on his physique. Instead, buy some cheap whiskey and smokes, and turn into mean coach.

Nah can't change who you are as a coach, but I think as d coordinator he has the opportunity to be more of a friend and shoulder to lean on for kids and that can’t exist as the head coach

Young/rook coaches can change. Learn and grow lol..

Was sarcastic obviously, but he'll learn. The 100% young/fun/nice personality will figure the "when".

I hated that 0-3 moniker. That was a technicality.. Not even in the sense of changing the definition of recession or definition of definition type technicality..

The bowl game doesn't count for all intents and purposes. No other coach with an 0-x start first game was a bowl game amidst a coaching change without some of its players..

So he's 1-2 to start. If ND played Ohio State to open last year then Toledo, ND would have been one play away from also opening 1-2.

Granted the ground is much shakier this season, but that's to be expected. Jury's out but I think he has a better than 30% chance getting this thing turned around. He's got a lot to learn so plenty of things to improve upon. The hour glass has now been turned over coach, hopefully you can figure it out before times up or it's onto the next candidate..

Not sure 2022 has better talent than 2010.

OL missed on two classes WR seems like it is missing three classes. Not sure how many starting LBs will get drafted.

I do know one thing. If Freeman is still coaching at ND in 2028, it is extremely doubtful that he will only win 4 games like Kelly managed to do in 2016.

Sure, I'm disappointed in this season so far. I also think that for Freeman to be considered on the 'Hot Seat' after 2 games into the season is a bit of over-reaction. Especially so after the showing the Irish had against Ohio St. Yes, the Marshall game was a let down and I would be much happier with a stomping of Cal, but the season is still young. Let's give them a chance to show what they're made of before writing off the season.

I tend not to visit this site after an Irish loss, or even a close win, because of all the doom and gloom posting. It seems some won't be happy until the Irish are winning every game 55-0.
