Guest absdietguy
The Irish are playing Tulane right now in the Nokia Sugar Bowl Classic, originally to be held in New Orleans, but had moved to College Station in Texas (as you know, due to Hurricane Katrina). The Irish took Game #1 (30-23) and Game #2 (30-26). The Irish would just need to win one more game to improve to 7-0 for the season. The Irish will play again on Sunday against LSU, should prove to be a very competitive game.

Guest absdietguy
Kelbley helps serve up win The Irish continue their winning ways at the Nokia Sugar Bowl Classic in College Station, Texas. Earlier this afternoon, the Irish defeated Tulane in three games (30-23, 30-26 and 30-26). The Irish trailed in game one early on, it was the play from Lauren Kelbley that had the Irish eventually securing a lead. Kelbley on the day had 15 kills on .412 hitting and 3 aces. Serving certainly was a plus in the Irish win as Ashley Tarutis, Lauren Brewster and Meg Henican all put points on the board from the service line. Defensively, the Irish showed up, just like they always have this season. Huge props going out to Carolyn Cooper in her efforts in securing 6 of the teams 11 blocks. Behind the block, picking up what Cooper couldn't, Adrianna Stasiuk, garnered a team high 19 digs. Not to shabby considering she was playing right side hitter and not libero. With today's win, the Irish improve to 7-0 overall and continue to remain unbeaten thus far for the season. Notre Dame returns to the court on Sunday (Sept. 18th) at 11:00am (CDT) to face Louisiana State who holds a win loss record of 8-1. Their best start, much like the Irish, in years. Look for both teams to come out swinging! ~ A We Dig Irish Volleyball Report
