Man, the skeptical side of me wonders if they’re lifting us up so Ohio State can claim a big win early and jump Bama…. I just don’t see it…#5 in both polls?

I would have been fine anywhere between 4 and 10

 

3 is a level above. 4 through 10 are all interchangeable at this point

It's going to be great when we get our signature win right out the gate.  GO IRISH!!

I interpret it this way: people respect ND's recent history.

ND is a team who has recently won 10+ games consistently, returned a bunch of starters, hired an exciting new coaching staff, and recruited well. We know there are flaws and what-ifs, but there aren't many teams without those. 

The program is in a very good place, and they are currently thought of as a top team. This is a good thing. Don't forget to enjoy the ride.
