The new syncopation will be tough to stumble over while singing.

It's been an unofficial practice among some students for years. It syncs up really well. After a few times running through it, it becomes second nature.

The daughters of Notre Dame deserve their mention, in my opinion.

Even the change won't be inclusive.  I mean, what about gender queer, gender fluid, and gender apathetic individuals?  Why are they left out?  Can't ND simply add another verse and some notes to be more inclusive?

ND women have been singing these lyrics for a few decades.  It's time to make it official I think.

I know it seems like I heard it forever now. My sister-in-law was in the first graduating class of ND women and it seems as though she has been singing it that way for a looooong time.

Just like the new words in Catholic mass changed by the morons in Rome, I won’t be saying the new words to the Fight Song either.  This is stupid…

I associate the Victory March with the Notre Dame football team.

My father was ND grad (I'm just a subway alumni) but he and I both support the change. 

When the song was written, ND was male-only. Now it is not (and hasn't been for 50 years). 

Having two girls and one boy involved in college sports (not at ND), I see no reason not to support sports played by both genders with the fight song.  Unless you want to write a new song to play just for women's sports.

We’ve been singing “sons and daughters” since I was in school and I graduated from ND in 1993. It’s just nice that they’ve made it official.

And my worry is this. Notre Dame might be the most liberal Catholic organization in the US. Do they keep adding to the song now?

Seems like a slam dunk to just add "other". So instead of "sons and daughters" it can be "sons and daughters and other". 

 

I like it, feels like it has a nice ring to it.

So adding daughters leads to adding other? 
 

Honestly… They didn’t NEED to add it, we were already singing it that way for decades
