because we are one of the few who give full rides to Punters/kicker/long-snappers I believe.

Because we have to

A team consists of offense, defense and special teams. To win a national championship, all three must be dominant.

While it takes scholarships from the offense and the defense, I’m OK recruiting kickers, punters and long snappers. Special teams often win or lose games.

Other teams do give ST full rides but state schools also can benefit from multiple ST players walking on due to "low" in-state tuition and then giving scholarships to the ones who pan out.

Correct. Many state schools have low tuition, then have mass walkons and the numbers work in their favor.

He is the #1 ranked punter in Chris Sailer's rankings. For those who don't know, Sailer's rankings are basically the bible for special teams players.

He will likely be the starting punter next year since Bramblett will grad transfer out of ND.

Zero issue with the signing. We get the #1 punter in the nation. Special teams is often neglected by major programs. As far as taking a scholarship from position player down the line I am fine with it. Plenty of 4 stars that sit on the bench.

Didn't we recently sign the #1 ranked kicker too?

Yes. Last year's kicker recruit - Josh Bryan - was ranked the #1 kicker in the country per Chris Sailer.
