Drew is a baller....

We still can't run the ball

Our line is getting a little better but still stinks

Defense is starting to click

Kelly needs to clean up his penalties ?

  1. Congrats BK on being the winningest ND coach of all time. And congrats being 10-0 in Shamrock games
  2. Great, gritty, TEAM win.... O did a little, D did a little, STs did a little. Team did a lot
  3. OL still sucks and I just don't see them getting that much better as is. Someone call Harry Hiestand up please. Getting QBs hurt, having negative rushing yards, penalties...... something must be done. Shuffle some guys, new coach, I don't care. But do something. Patience doesn't seem to be buying us anything.
  4. Wow Cam Hart. Has made some mistakes this season, but jumped routes twice for 2 INTs, and had a critical 3rd down PD
  5. Defense is looking better. Still don't like the early prevent stuff, but we've seen a lot of improvement
  6. LBs - I was worried big time about this group today, but they played fantastic for the most part. And I'm not talking about just the two late P6s
  7. Tyree - Gotta get a mention for the STs return TD. Kid is electric
  8. Underdog????? lol.... We own Soldier Field. We deserve a bump in the ranks.

Really happy for Drew Pyne - he was ready for the moment and balled out

Dorer needs to kick it through the end zone every time

Glad to see Botelho back - he had some big sticks

Really happy for Cam Hart - huge day for him

Great statement game baby!!

Pyne needs to start. Coan is a statue and has zero pocket presence. We need some mobility with this line and Pyne is a better passer.

Tyree needs more touches. Where is the end around with Lenzy? Offence is way too vanilla.

Please never rush 3 again. Thankfully that was my only complaint with Freeman.

Nice to see Boetehlo out there, he’s a man amongst boys.

Hart had his coming out party.

if we can figure out this offensive line we are going to be tough to beat.

Can you imagine if Hart can play like that more often, and then have Kyle hitting on all cylinders....

i just finished the game....6 in the morning kick off was too early for me so i DVRed it.....that was a fun fourth quarter....

I felt we would win this going away  but it was an interesting game.....we have issues still but i will say marcus freeman won me over today with a special defensive effort....defense looked great....credit to drew coming in at spot where he could have been the goat,,,,but no goat today....sets up a nice weekend for all of us eh....

1. 13 points- under 20 defense wins, period

2. Won the turnover battle.

3. Tired of the Kelly can't develop QBs narrative. Pyne and Buchner both look prepared, young but prepared.

4. More swagger on defense. Closed the game we're looking to survive but thrive. Cam, Kiser, Captain Drew.

5.  I'm glad he let Tyree return the ball.

I will say everyone needs to be cautious of praising the D and Freeman too much. Wisky looked awful against Penn State and Mertz will be one of the worst qbs we face all year. I don’t think they will end up being very good.

I loved the Pyne swagger. Did the Conor McGregor strut.

On BK and QB development. It's a fine line. There's plenty of bad you can point out, especially with the higher star recruits. The narrative he was a QB whisperer I think adds to frustration.

1. We have depth that we never had before.

2. Brian Kelly was a good hire

3. Coan gave us good intel on Wisconsin’s tendencies (hopefully Freeman will do the same next week)

4. We made great use of that intel

5. coach has expensive taste in wine.  He’s having a Masseto tonight, which is $750-850

6. We have an undefeated record in Shamrock Series games

I think QB recruiting deserves scrutiny and needs improvement. But Book et al, played to their Potential and beyond.

Penn State has a good D though. Held Auburn to 20. Auburn doesn't score 20 or less often. Maybe to Bama, UGA, etc.. but not a lot.

Had a mid 90s (I think) a few years ago on my B-day. Good stuff, but wouldn't spend the money now lol... I had been saving it for a while. Wish I wouldn't have drank it. I enjoyed thinking about it more than drinking it lol....

My alter ego prediction 38-13 was better than my brain prediction 17-13... Both looked like they could happen at different times lol..

Yeah, I totally agree!  Everything did change after that!  Fox did share the last time Notre Dame returned a kickoff for a TD and it was against Navy in 2016!  ?

Inexperienced OL.  Can they improve as they gain more game experience as a group??  Hang in there till Fisher comes back.

D improving and I don't think any of us know right now what the ceiling is.  Outstanding defense can help overcome the offensive issues this year.

I would be tempted to give the backup job to Pyne to preserve Buchner's eligibility.  Especially if ND isn't in position to sign Moore for 2023.  I think Coan is the best passer of the group but his lack of mobility really doesn't fit with the OL struggles.  I would be tempted to continue to split time with the more mobile backups.  From there, performance dictates who gets more game time.
