ND Hired Kelly right after this game.

  • 3 receivers who can run.
  • Veteran QB
  • pass catching TE
  • RBs who can block and catch

Counter Argument

  • Offensive  Line
  • Kyren needs his carries

Is this Year ND sees Kelly's 4 Verticals passing he was known for at Cincinnati? 8 members have voted

4 verticals is only necessary on a hail mary pass at the end of a game. 4 verticals does not give any benefit otherwise. Maybe a vertical on each side of the ball, but the other receivers should be doing different routes in case the vertical routes are covered.

Uhm... I would say half the time he's been here 4 verticals has been a staple of his offense. Pretty annoying. Like playing a 9 year old online football.

Long developing routes that are easily covered up unless you have elite talent at the WR position.

Hoping Tommy gets even more control over the scheme with in-breaking routes based off their run-action.

Well guys to me the answer to my question is yes. I don't  know that  the 4 verticals will be effective but we saw it.

Its not the Hail Mary like was was mentioned. Its 4 option routes that can end up deep based on coverage. You saw Both Wilkins and Austin convert the deep options.

That’s not what 4 Verts is, it’s more a concept where 4 WRs run routes that stretch the field, but they’re not all running straight 9 routes

Exactly, the goal is to stretch the field, you might have 2 WRs run 9 routes while the other 2 break off and run deep crosses.
