Don’t know about Book. Β Hope so.

JOK leads Cleveland defenders with 4 tackles and a sack after 3 quarters

Book is playing right now. Β Among other things, a 17 yard pass to Tony Jones, Jr.

currently 5 of 7 for 64 yards passing

but most of it short passes and difficultyΒ to keep up. penalty IG ball toss away too slowΒ for outrun 3rd stringΒ DT.

Hill/Winston both terrible.Β

Troy Pride left with an injury towards end of Colts game

Tommy Tremble caught a TD for the Carolina Panthers

Maybe its just preseason but its good seeing so many young ND players making an impact on their teams right away. Β

Saints have another QB on roster Trevor Siemian.
yesterday Book didnt play.

Siemian probably active backup QB.
Β

It was mentioned on the broadcast last night that Sean Payton loves Tony Jones Jr. and he is currently RB2 ahead of the aging Latavius Murray and Devonta Freeman.Β

I thought they had mentioned during the game that they were planning on having four quarterbacks on the rosterΒ for the season. Β I could be wrong though.

yes,Β that is a given inΒ case of draft pick/Book.

still Siemian maybe on practice squad. But he is seasonΒ "real backup"Β ifΒ Winston or Hill miss games.

That makes sense.

Q Nelson of the Colts apparently out with Covid

I watched every bit of the Panthers preseason games, and Tommy Tremble is the real deal. I heard he had potential when he comes to receiving and knew all about his blocking ability, but he has been fantastic as a receiver and made some great plays. He's going to get a lot of playing time this season. And make a lot of playsΒ

NFL teams have to get down to 53 players by tomorrow (Aug. 31), so there will be a lot of movement the next two days.Β

Here is a tracker:Β https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2021-nfl-roster-cuts-tracker-see-every-cut-from-all-32-teams-after-initial-rosters-trimmed-to-53-players/

Bills: Nick McCloud still on the roster, but I would guess he gets cut. However, he should make the practice squad.

Jets: Bennett Jackson (can't believe he's still hanging on) was cut already. Josh Adams is on the line - probably ends up in the practice squad again this year.

Raiders: Te'von Coney was cut.

Bears: Mustipher and Bars will both make the final roster. I believe Mustipher is the starting center. Not sure where Bars falls on the depth chart, but think he is solidly in there.

Lions: Basically ND's NFL team: Javon McKinley, Jalen Elliot, Tommy Kraemer, Brock Wright, and the Okwara brothers all currently on the roster. The Okwara brothers are obviously safe. The word is that Elliot will make the 53-man roster. Not sure about the other three. I would doubt any of them make the 53-man roster, but one or two could make the practice squad.

Packers: Dexter Williams and Equanimeous St. Brown are both fighting for spots. ESBΒ was injured all of last year. Dexter was on the practice squad for most of the year. I read that Williams was expected to make it as the third RB before training camp, but it sounds like he might lose his spot. He played well the last two games though (at least, his stats suggest he did). Not sure about ESB - he did not play at all this preseason and is injured a lot. I would guess both are cut but. Dexter probably makes the practice squad.

Buccaneers: C.J. Procise saw some action last game, but I don't think he'll make the final roster. He will probably make the practice squad though.

Saints: Tony Jones is pretty much a lock to make the 53-man roster. I never thought he would do anything in the NFL - credit to him for really improving over the last year. Ian Book will make the roster as well - the Saints like him more than Trevor Siemian.Β

Rams: Ben Skowronek was impressing during camp, but recently broke his arm and is out 4-6 weeks. Not sure what happens when he gets healthy.

Β

Going to be a tough day for a lot of guys. Hopefully many can find their way on practice squads.

Donte Vaughn cut by the Chargers.

Cole Luke cut by the WFT.

Dexter Williams cut by the Packers.

Equanimeous St. Brown cut by the Packers.

Sheldon Day cut by the Browns

Bars is what I would call a 'entrenched sixth man'. He is used as a swing lineman that can slot in to any G or T spot and put up good minutes. Since there are always injuries, he's always in demand. I don't see him going anywhere this year.

Lions just cut 5 ND guys: Jalen Elliot, Alize Mack, Brock Wright, Tommy Kraemer, and Javon McKinley

Would guess 2 or 3 of those guys get put on the practice squad. Surprised Jalen Elliot didn't make it based on everything I'd read.

It looks like 39 former ND players are on active NFL rosters to start the season.

Atlanta Falcons: Ade Ogundeji

Baltimore Ravens: Miles Boykin, Daelin Hayes, Ronnie Stanley

Carolina Panthers: J.J. Jansen, Tommy Tremble, Troy Pride (IR)

Chicago Bears: Alex Bars, Cole Kmet, Sam Mustipher

Cincinnati Bengals: Khalid Kareem

Cleveland Browns: Jeremiah Owusu-Karmoah

Dallas Cowboys: Zach Martin, Jaylon Smith

Detroit Lions: Scott Daly, Julian Okwara, Romeo Okwara

Indianapolis Colts: Quenton Nelson, Isaac Rochell

Las Vegas Raiders: Nick Martin

Los Angeles Chargers: Alohi Gillman, Jerry Tillery, Drue Tranquill

Los Angeles Rams: Ben Skowronek

Minnesota Vikings: Harrison Smith

Miami Dolphins: Liam Eichenberg, Will Fuller, Durham Smyth

New Orleans Saints: Ian Book, Tony Jones

New York Giants: Julian Love, Kyle Rudolph

Pittsburgh Steelers: Chase Claypool, Jamir Jones, Stephon Tuitt

San Francisco 49ers: Aaron Banks, Mike McGlinchey

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Robert Hainsey

Tennessee Titans: Matthias Farley
