That game christened one of my favorite Holtz lines regarding the bowl of Cherrios.

2031? How in the world are we that far ahead in football schedules?

I will begin being excited in 2030. 9 years to prepare.

COvid showed these far out schedules are not necessary.

Props to Jack or whoever got these games scheduled. Florida playing in South Bend in November is an achievement.

That is an accomplishment. Florida's 2031 schedule looks rough (projecting 10 years out).

This is what always made me laugh. When people would complain about ND’s schedule of being too easy or to hard before the season kicks off. You never know how teams are going to be. Also, these schedules are made so far out that it’s ridiculous to belittle a team on who they scheduled 10 years prior when no one truly knows where they’ll be. Oh well. This game will be entertaining regardless.

Oooh good point! That is a serious trivia question. Had to be when Spurrier was the coach.

From what I can find, they almost never play non-conference road games. If they do, they are neutral site.

Last true road game I can find out of the SEC was Syracuse in 1991. That was in the Carrier Dome.

Last road game, outdoors in the North, @Rutgers in October 1986.

So it's been a while. That was pre-Spurrier.

ND’s schedules are loaded in the coming years.

Ohio State ‘22, ‘23

Texas A&M ‘24, ‘25

Alabama ‘28, ‘29

Florida ‘31, ‘32

Throw in a bunch of games with Clemson and the usual games with USC.

The only thing I don’t like is that ND plays OSU in the first game of those two years. Probably out of playoff consideration after week one.

Hopefully Saban retires before ‘28.

Even worst than I thought. I figured it would be Spurrier in his earlier years to try and get that program on the map. Guess I was wrong.

7 years. I’ll take it. If Saban is coaching Nd’s going to beat him like a drum. When your 77 no matter how good you are it’s about that age when things start going down the hill fast. I think Bowden and Snyder of K State. Good until mid 70’s and then something happens. Age, mental capacity, recruiting weakens, libido. Who knows. But Father Time is undefeated. Ohio state will always suck to play them.

I’d love to see them get Texas or TCU on the schedule. We need better recruiting out of Texas. Could play TCU at the Cowboys stadium as part of a home-and-home series; their own stadium is too small for ND to have an interest.

I would love to drop Stanford and sprinkle in Texas teams.
