Heard from a university source today: He was on a call with Kelly this week and Kelly said we are going to play a 12 game schedule ... but the PAC 10 and the Big 10 have said they aren’t going to play any games outside their respective conferences so no USC Stanford or Wisconsin!! Supposedly we have 3 teams we are talking to about replacing them. Also probably going to limit fans to about 15,000 per game.

So.... bring on Murray State and Middle Tennessee State University!

Lol. Why not? Our schedule would still be tougher than Clemsons. 8-)

Would have to assume BYU would be a potential game as they are going to be desperate to fill their schedule since they play a Big Ten school and several PAC 10 school.

AF would be another option since they play Purdue this year. Was actually really hoping to attend that game and get win over my wife’s school but I’d gladly take a loss to ND instead. If AF and Navy move up their game to replace Purdue. AF would have an open date for ND to replace UW.

Yes I know AF and BYU are no where near the same level as UW, USC, or Stanford just doing a quick look at options. Alabama replacing USC is an option but not sure how I feel about that. If you want to be the best play one the best I guess.

Also have to guess more ACC schools would be options but I haven’t dug through all their schedules to see who has games currently against Big or PAC schools.

interesting, it might be fun to figure who the mystery games are. Its likely teams that were also dumped by those conferences.

I think that Iowa Preflight might be available...

That would really be a blow to ND and really the entire CFB season. There are a lot of good OOC matchups this year involving the BIG 10 and Pac-12:

Week 1: Michigan at Washington

Week 1: USC vs. Alabama

Week 2: Ohio State at Oregon

Week 2: Penn State at Virginia Tech

Week 3: Colorado at Texas A&M

Week 4: Miami at Michigan State

Week 5: Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin

Week 14: Notre Dame at USC

Heck, Alabama would do the same thing in a heartbeat.

But ND will probably look at other independents first, so I see them trying to work out something with BYU, Army or UConn rather than any directional school

So conferences in states that are run by particularly oppressive Democrat governors - Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California... This is where TV ratings are really going to matter for these schools. ND should do just fine under these circumstances. This really sucks for the schools in those conferences, especially the lesser powers. I would LOVE Bama, even if we lose. Load up...it’s an odd year anyway, but people are dying for big matchups so this is our chance.

Lolz. Oppressive.

Totally ok to protest/riot in groups of tens of thousands, not ok to have funeral for loved one. Maybe not oppressive, but power hungry hypocrites

Not sure what that comment was (thank you, block function) but I'll just point out that the"conferences in states that are run by particularly oppressive Democratic governors" includes Big 10 schools in Indiana, Ohio, Nebraska, Iowa, and Maryland. Each of these 5 states has a Republican governor.

Presumably just as oppressive, considering that it's the Big 10 making the decision, not a governor..... And Governors don't get a say in the scheduling of out of conference vs. in-conference sports.

Packers president said Wisconsin was still on. Btw, if you don’t think state governments are involved with the NCAA or conferences where THEIR state schools play, you’re crazy. The admins are fully involved with their schools.

Then I’m crazy. And maybe I work for a state government.

People have this impression that the government is more organized than it actually is.

There’s no invisible hand working against people based on sports conferences..

I deal with all fifty states governments on a daily basis...generally, they’re a bunch of good ol boy networks and corrupt, especially certain states. Now, if you work for Texas, I might agree with you - the left hand doesnt know what the right is doing which is why we’re able to collect a lot of money from the state. But, at least the Texas Supreme Court knows what it’s doing. The most corrupt states I’ve encountered are Hawaii, Illinois, and New Jersey. The state I love most? North Dakota. Thos guys just love the fact anyone acknowledges them...

Anyway, neither here nor there, I guess. But, based on the Packers comment, it seems like there is some conflicting info about what’s up for games this season.
