I'm antsy to find some plays I think we will be running in the fall.

I think we're playing out of the pistol offense. I'm basing this out what Rees called in the Bowl Game, What Kelly said in the Presser and what Tommy ran as QB at ND.

What Kelly said in the Presser: "Tommy made a good presentation about how to use 2 and 3 tight ends in the offense"

ND can Max protect, have all the tight ends in blocking, and still have Austin and Lenzy go deep

Thoughts??

There is Lenzy starting to work on in-breaking routes

I think you’ll see that a lot with Austin and Lenzy lined up as Twins to the strong side of the formation. Off that concept I think you’ll a double move from the slot receiver (out & up) to catch DBs cheating on the Out route.

TBH, I’m interested to see how the run game will change. Jones was more of a north-south runner. The current mix is more East-West runner. Maybe we’ll see a lot more tosses/sweeps, Screens to get the ball out quickly on the edges.

Rees trotted this out early too. Wasn't executed great, but something he could bring back next year

Like Elder said, this is a good variation too(sorry I could not find ND's version right away, we did it while Rees was playing)

image.jpg the H gets to challenge the Outside OLB while the threats occupy the safeties up top also a very good running formation

here's some pistol examples from Tommy's playing days

Like it a lot! Lenzy and Austin should thrive but don't count frosh Xavier Watts. He's a player!
