Guest mightymjolnir
After removing itself from any poll with BCS implications, ESPN.com now weighs in on the rankings with its Power 16. 20 ESPN and associated analysts rank their Power 16, with the results combined for a weekly cumulative poll. For Week 2, Notre Dame cracked the list at 15. Individually, Ivan Maisel had the Irish at #9, Dave Revsine listed them at #10, and even Colin Cowherd ranked ND at #11. Maybe I was wrong about that guy...

Guest mightymjolnir
I had a chance to listen to Cowherd a little bit at lunch, and he completely defended his rankings. Most of the static came from Tennessee fans who were upset that he ranked the Vols below ND. He answered logically: Notre Dame beat virtually the same team in Knoxville last year, despite having almost no offense. After the way they looked against UAB and the way we looked against Pitt, the rankings are justified. He also took calls from some U of M fans, most of whom were upset that they slipped two spots even though they won. However, one Michigan fan had a great quote in describing his fear of ND this weekend: "If Weis is Michaelangelo, Carr is a seven-year-old in a smock playing with Play-Doh." I would never go so far as to insult their coach like that, but coming from a Michigan fan, what can I say?

Guest SirJohn
I agree if you go way back in my posts it was worries about the Defense before Pitt. I believe Weis and Minter studied 32 possibilities maybe a 3rd? But Minter and Crew handled it as Weis did say that was Wannys defense..4-3. So I think although Mich O line is good The Crew ND has defensively can handle it at around or about the same 21 mark one which came on garbage time. Guest Snatchy_McPants
And as long as our offense is on the field, controlling the clock, we won't have to worry about what our defense can do to stop them. I have faith in our defense, but anybody who has to go up against Hart, Henne, and crew is up for a challenge. Control the clock, win the game. Guest SirJohn
Correct: That old clock. Also again, their coach is really upset. Of both team it seems while much went right for both, more went wrong for Mich. Notre Dame had a "TEAM" on the field. Muck Fishigan.
