Thought we could discuss this...

After talking about it a bit, I'm not so concerned with the run game (see the run game thread I created too)

but damn, I've never seen so many pass drops in one game!

What do you guys think? fixable? first big game jitters? Fuller was awesome, but damn, so many bobbled catches, dropped catches

and Prosise...damn

I said this in the preseason. I expected a drop from the WR crew simply because the unit over performed last season. Why did they over perform? TJ Jones. He was a great leader and had a great work ethic. He set the bar for the unit and they came in focused every week. I think they are what they are.

yea, they're still game-breaking with burners, but damn...those pass-drops hurt

Daniels would be welcomed back

perhaps after catching 'change-ups' from Rees last year....they've had trouble adapting to the 'fastballs' from Golson.

They need to improve before October gets here....

Prosise isn't a smooth catcher and he'll never be if he's not at this point. I literally catch with my hands, he doesn't do it. Its the result of failing to recruit...well, failing to land that big time slot WR. We've tried and failed year after year. Prosise is playing by default. He'll drop more. Chris Brown's drop on that big 3rd down was BRUTAL. Amir snagged bullets with his hands being in very awkward positions, but he still caught the ball every time with his hands. No body hugging or bumping. He never used his chest as a third arm. It is what it is. The real big time WR's will be better. Fuller was kind of looking before making the catch early, kind of looking to see if he was about to get drilled...so I think that was just an early jitters thing. It was his first big game while playing a pivotal role. He was looking because he watched tape and he knew Michigan's defense was tough and physical. No big deal with him seeing as though he's a true catcher. Brent and Holmes are and will be true catchers. Robinson, Fuller snag it. Hunter...I'm not sure. From what I remember on his tape he has great hands...and he can definitely take over Prosise's spot. High effort defense by Michigan...ESPN will sh*t all over UM now because we beat them, but truth be told, they have some nice players. We beat a legitimate team...I just hope we didn't completely ruin their confidence. Now we need them to go undefeated to make this win look phenomenal.

From an athletic standpoint, of course Prosise is great. He's fast and strong and quick...he's a great athlete. He will get better I'd assume, but he'll always drop that occasional easy pass.

Fuller's two drops were cuz he tried to run before catching it. That simple really...

Brown is brutal however because this has been his MO for 2 years now.

Amir's hands have been a revelation, however!

Yup, that one drive was killed by a hurried throw to open Koyack on 2nd down. AND then Golson threw a freaking strike to Brown and hit him right in the hands. dropped it. would have put us in place for probably at least another FG attempt.

they also highlighted how that first throw out to fuller that he bobbled likely cost us a big chunk of yards.

I guess that is the positive, that there were at least 100 yards left out there by bad drops, bobbled balls and missed WR.

Could've been 45-0 pretty easy had ND played better on offense.

That is pretty much how I see it. Brown will catch a few good ones, but will also drop a few simple ones. Fuller just needs to calm down, make sure to catch the ball before running super fast.

you're "Mr. Positive" after a big win, aren't you???

Enjoy it for a second, will ya?

Fuller's TD catch was excellent. He outran Countess to the end zone and then turned around, jumped high and caught the ball way above Countess. Perfect throw and perfect go up and get it. Very exciting TD in a big game.

Fuller is great, but he dropped one screen pass that had the blocks set up because he ran before he had the ball. Then he bobbled one, and I believe he dropped another one as well. I am high on Fuller, he just needs to calm down and take that next step!

I agree. I'm sure we're going to have some close games where those drops can hurt. Outsideof C Rob, who can make the tough catches?

Because you asked the question the answer is obvious. He hasn't taken a snap yet this season.
